  1. There we go Finally some hardcore consequence to hardcore public.
  2. Nothing stops Warfleets from a same nation to draw their lines and play their act, as nationals. But also opens up areas not before possible. At a Conquest level a rebellion is possible. And if the rebels win, they will "control the spice", no matter what the loyalists say.
  3. The entire system creates a safe zone at conquest level, if you didn't notice yet. New players ( or very casual ones ) will always have their nation. Always. Will give them growing space and warfleets that want to dedicate themselves to smaller tasks, like privateering or trade escort a place to exist in their own niche. Ports do become important only for the RvR taxation level and raids and denial of entry against equally elevated warfleets.
  4. The interventionism of player made association linked to sandbox liberty opens up a lot of gameplay options. Obviously the aim is the new players and growth by association, it seems, I hope.
  5. You are right, I am guilty of being pulled into a battle with a enemy nation which served no other purpose than seeing the enemy escape. As a last interesting fact on calling fair and equal, last time we actually met you got shunned away by a convoy of Indiamans in your heavy frigates while having superior firepower and weather gauge ( after being found amidst a heavy storm by usage of alternative methods thanks to your Privateer buddy, kudos to him, he kept at it with all intent). While on the secondary battle a heavy frigate was also forced to escape from a cruise raider, but at least your companion had proper manners. That's how fair it goes down when the heat goes up. Regarding your special request you better go up the stairs and knock the correct door. Make sure you wipe your feet before entering. Oh, damn, out of biscuits
  6. Thanks for clearing it up. A good point of view. As I see it is not about the rewards. Is entirely about accessibility Okay, maybe limitation is not the way to go, you are right.
  7. Still the example you give is at best a "out of the sun" situation. Opponent is either blind or afk or maybe actually means to fight. But cool beans. Worth a test. Apex tag + what you see is what you get RoE. Success !
  8. Correct. It relies on a faux feature indeed. So, how to do it ? Looking back to Age of Reckoning I remember having RvR since early stages.
  9. You ain't. Albeit the numbers are rocket low due to different %% allocated to several reasons there's certainly a feeling of "unfair". Those that love the game for what it is just shrug and dismiss "beardies" as nuisances as long as they stay away from the liberty they enjoy. Those that like a elevated involvement can be affected and stop pressing play. In truth we all make the universe we play in and everyone is the king of the hill once there's no one left, figuratively and statistically. We all to blame.
  10. Well, true enough we did test everything and been exposed to everything to we can pick easily what fits. It took large amount of hundreds of hours if not thousands Retention rate to new blood to the OW is the aim of my suggestion. The particularities of conquest organization, logistics and ultimately strategy and tactics for the big port battles cannot be enjoyed in something like a parallel Legends world.
  11. There are no ships that are 10BR. Only ships that have increased BR and are used as traders are the LGV and Indiaman. For the balance you seek to work you'd give away the owning fleets or the purpose would be lost.
  12. @Fengist testing in NA has gone through a lot and devs want to make sure they don't leave anything untested, be it the easiest more accessible mode possible ( teleports everywhere, multiple durabilities, surreal amounts of gold, etc ) to the more difficult and painful and "grindy". Things are about to change soon, I think, due to many of the things that looked good on paper didn't really work when in practice.
  13. I'd say no but then you'd be sad Did the frigate captains that decided to overlook promotion got more than their share due ? No.
  14. Wait for it. Details soon.
  15. I truly believe that some captains said it, but as I said can't believe any of the fighting captains of the clans fighting for France did even consider having a fight without knowing the risk. But hey, even if it is true, actions are being spoken. Interesting to see, due to the extremely low amount of players, the different aspects of PvP actually being tested when pit against each other. On one hand lost ports. On the other lost ships. Ît will never end. No one will win and it will go on and on and on. A PvPer never gets bored as long as there's game out in the open world. A Conquest fleet captain will get sorely bored do empty after empty after empty PB. Sadly that's what we have and how we have to play, together. All fun, all games and especially great to get back to what type of character I, and my rover brothers, love to play this time. Corsairs de France. Just as a hint, we ROVERs use no alts ( even our spies are the player sitting next to you ), we did build our little clan economy based on "national sanctioned pyracy" and throw all iron, woods, and the rest needed for ships and equipment for ships stolen from enemies of France ( red text is enemy, right ?). We do have production but don't touch it since... the last Dane incident, give or take. That's all outposts, ship slots, SOL shipyards ( we have no use for it, but what da heck, can help other clans ), workshops and oh... maybe, just maybe shipyards in frank ports not controlled by any nation as it makes it easier to use the prized goods and pump raiders right where they are neede... The more enemy trade open to attack the less need we have for ports. Here lies the natural difference between our styles. But affraid to lose ships ? No. Never heard such a thing from a fighting captain of the fighting clans of France.
  16. This is the one thing I never heard from any of the fighting groups of France.
  17. Our Lord knows, oh He knows, how many countless times we had to bite our greed and resist the temptations of peeking, just a little peek, at the honest and trustworthy CCCP trading guild convoys cargo holds... Karma pays off and every playstyle will be fulfilled in earnest. Willingly or unwilling, we shall have our prizes and let the lord of the realm seek their glory, for each seeks to win which he lacks the most. ( really, was damn hard to let them pass like fat and full bellies oceanic cetaceans... just because we gave our word to fulfill the agreement.)
  18. Worlds collide... PvE PB vs OW PvP... Oh my oh my...
  19. Dynamic resources. Economic events. Port towns upkeep/upgrade. The more population the faster resources get depleted. The more population using a certain town the more squalor, plague events with effect on prices/resources etc etc etc There's plenty of ideas from games not necessarily computer media that do act as a deterrent of snowballs and hoarding.
  20. What is this referencing to? To smuggling of debts and decay of uncommon currency.
  21. *puts the most surprised face mask and just stares in theatrical disbelief * ... how could you...!
