Last night I ran the gambit with my clan ganking a pirate santi and a couple frigates coming back from missions out of MT. Successfully sunk the santi and the frigatesmand we spread out our guys like roaches trying to evade the 25 pirates (Koltes clan) sitting outside to re-tag us. Myself and another were personally tagged 2-3x over the course of 2 hours and eventually ended up sinking. 4 out of 6 of us did not make it back to port with out boats. This is of course the price you pay for hunting outside the capital and of course sinking a lineship, but it did leave me thinking that this current system is honestly bullshit. The invis doesn't really matter if there are 25 players spread out and everyone and their brother can get a ship up to 14knts+ to chase you long enough to run out of repairs. After about 2 hours of chasing I just said screw it and turned around to let them cap me. The current system isn't really enjoyable. To find meaningful PVP on servers that are populated with 1/4 of the folks that should be on them you need to stray near the capitals and if you go near the capitals it's a pretty good chance you'll lose your ship unless you can go 15knts. Bring back the teleport to nearest freetown or something similar. OR bring back the old system of ship speeds. 14knt bellonas is kinda bullshit when the fastest surprise or endy can only go 15.

Danmark-Norge & Sweden: Cancelling treaties
Christendom replied to Anolytic's topic in Caribbean News
what was the third? and GB is doing fine. Had to trim away the non fighters. -
Oh we can fill PBs, but not at 2am. They like the blame the availability of fleets, but somehow we managed to flip 2 ports back to back in the span of 2 hours. It's simple, the Pirates don't want to fight offensive battles where they might lose, so they set them when no one can defend. Empty ports are the best ports for BLACK.

Danmark-Norge & Sweden: Cancelling treaties
Christendom replied to Anolytic's topic in Caribbean News
I told ya you guys would miss me. I see you're encountering the fun Dane complain machine we had to run up with. They always got an excuse, it's never their fault and they were just "testing", seems to be the words that always come to mind when I encountered my Danish friends. They play the game how they want to, break truces and morning flip nations and then get upset when you play the game how you want to play it. It's their world and we just have to live in it. Anyway it seems like both of you dum dums ruined the server by allowing and perhaps encouraging 2 very large Zerg nations right next to each other and taking 2 months to fight after the map was conquered. The french were KO'd early and don't exist and then you ganged up on the pirates and broke Lord Vicious into tiny little pieces. Now that there is no one left to fight....finally you turned your sights on each other. And it's glorious. The US base would gladly love to join you guys again so you have other folks to vilify, but it'll have to be on a server with no restrictions. :-) Anyway you guys are free to come join us over on global. RVR is kinda bleh over here, but the only people that really give a shit about it are the pirates who feel like they want to dictate how the server is run by taking empty ports no one cares about. The rest of us just PVP nightly and sink each other. Combat news has 50+ people getting sunk on average an evening. King of Crowns and his band of seal clubbing frenchies have literally brought an entire Danish nation to it's knees without fighting a single port battle. They've sunk so many of them it seems they can't build the ships fast enough. Once you kinda take the RVR aspect out of the game or simply not care about it, it honestly 100% 10x much better of a game. There's too much drama and tears about a RVR system that is terrible. We're better off without it. You guys are welcome to cmon over to global anytime you want and enjoy the all out pvp. I'll even personally help you setup. But......you must bend the knee. -
There's definitely no love lost between myself and the mods of this game, but I think they generally do a good job of keeping things fair and above board. Unpaid volunteers will never always get it right 100% of the time, but they do their best. I've been apart of more than a few developmental forums and gaming communities over my 20+ years of gaming on the net and this is definitely up there one of the most, if the the most challenging groups I've come across. Most developers do not give their communities the same level of access that this one does and that might exactly translate into the best results, they get an A+ for effort in trying to involve the community in the process. Why is this even in tribunal?

The new and improved invis pop ambush
Christendom replied to Bach's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
Just bring back the teleport to nearest freetown option after battle. I hated it, but I still think it's was the most fair approach. To regulate it, give the person a cooldown of a couple hours. If they get tagged again and don't have it up, OW they go. The invisibility and increased speed is kinda BS. -
ah more people that want to go global but can't get XP and redeemables.......sigh

You guys crack me up. Maybe when the servers merge I'll go to Spain now that you fled cuba to go hide in DK. Spain could use some real fighters! Anyway, see you guys soon. Keep up the kind words!

It's Time to Merge the Servers!!
Christendom replied to Christendom's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
Night flips will soon be gone bud, go read admin's proposed changes. I feel like 90% of the EU whiners on here haven't actually read his post. In particular those guys from Sweden came over because they were upset with the 2 large "Zerg" nations on EU and the lack of content with their carebear agreements. It took them 2 months to fight each other and while they were holding hands the server lost 50% of it's population out of boredom. Lol.- 141 replies

It's Time to Merge the Servers!!
Christendom replied to Christendom's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
A lot of folks didn't have a choice. In my clan alone we had 3 people who did the whole midshipman mission on global to "sync" their XP and then when it came time to start over on here they had zero redeemables. Messages to Ink and Admin went unanswered. 2 of the 3 don't play anymore, they simply didn't want to start over or play on EU without their buds. I know of at least a couple dozen others on global who are playing and had their XP messed up. I wonder how many saw that they didn't get their XP and ships and said screw it. The implementation of global was botched right from the start and it definitely hurt it's population. And to all the crybabies, globals population is fine. We have not experienced the 50%+ loss in players like EU has. I am suggesting a merge for the new system, not this current one.- 141 replies

It's Time to Merge the Servers!!
Christendom replied to Christendom's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
It sounds like, and I could be wrong, that RVR will be more intermixed with the economy in these new War Companies. RVR will basically be economic warfare. Gotta have a lot of people to test it. Otherwise it will just be 2-3 major zerg companies (nations) per server as there is now.- 141 replies

It's Time to Merge the Servers!!
Christendom replied to Christendom's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
To test a proper economy and RVR system you ideally need as many folks as possible to simulate launch right. If this game had say 3000 players on, sure it'd make sense to split them up. But I don't think we average 1000 daily at peak times between both. Reviews on alpha are kinda silly, but remember we already paid for this game. This isn't a free alpha. You throw down money for a game and you should be able to review it.- 141 replies

It's Time to Merge the Servers!!

Nations don't matter, or will soon matter very little. I seem to recall a nightly flag pull of 25 spanish players back in the lord protector system almost every evening. Sometimes there would be more of them than us. The players are there, if the devs choose to merge.- 141 replies

It's Time to Merge the Servers!!
Christendom replied to Christendom's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
Anyway, looks like the old EU salt is real in this thread. I've said my bit. @admin Global and EU server populations are nearly back to where they were before the wipe and you had the benefit of summer vacations to help, this current method of doing things is not working. If anything global has held it's population far better than EU. 90% of your reviews claim a lack of content and in a sandbox, more players = more content. Want this game to succeed? Try something different.- 141 replies

It's Time to Merge the Servers!!
Christendom replied to Christendom's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
Majority of the reviews basically say the game doesn't have content. More players = More content. Remember, port timers are going away. This is a new system, or soon to be a new one. It's time to test it fully with as many players possible. If 2 servers are necessary, than so be it. It needs to be tested first.- 141 replies

It's Time to Merge the Servers!!
Christendom replied to Christendom's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
considering EU has lost almost 2/3 of the population it had since the start of the wipe, I'd say your 5 hour window of fun is perhaps not all it's cracked up to be. This post by your leader makes it seem the 5 hour window is too much and you only want 3. I mean why even bother playing? The game is simply too small to have 2 servers. Time to give One global server a chance.- 141 replies

It's Time to Merge the Servers!!

AUS players currently play on the US based server without issue. Keeping the combined global server on the east coast of the US seems to be about the best solution for everyone.- 141 replies

Given the possible changes released today by @admin, which seem to be good ones, I think it's time to revisit the Global and EU server split notion. As much as I dislike the server split, I get that people don't want to be online 24/7 defending ports. That was the old system. With the prospect of these new changes it looks like the game is taking more of the EVE/Sandbox approach, which means one server no restrictions. Don't want your corp/war company to lose it's holdings? Better recruit around the clock support. Conquest restrictions have zero place in the new proposed system IMO. So why do we need 2 servers? Populations appear to have leveled out between the 2 servers with Global maxing out around 250-300 and EU 400-500 (casual observation) and this seems to echo similar population numbers to what the servers were pre-wipe. If you build it, people will come. The game is still running less than 1000 people on average and given the significance of the changes it sounds like the more population being together to test, the better it will be. Naval Action is too small to split up. If this game is truly supposed to be a sandbox, it's time to throw everyone in it and say go have fun. Ping Issues? I know a couple of EU based players in my clan on global get better ping to the US east coast based server than I do and I live on the east coast..... @Wraith did a pretty good data collection of pings and what location might be the best for the game. We should look at it. Anyway, it's time to merge the servers. To use a line from one of my favorite shows.
