Ship Slot Exp waaay too high
Christendom replied to Licinio Chiavari's topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
75% of the time these days I forgot to set my book slots because of this damn UI.... I’m not sure how much they matter. -
Agree on most points, especially the casual one. Every single time this game takes a more hardcore stance on things, this patch being an example, they quit. The bulk of players who log in and play MMO games like NA are typically made up of casual oriented folks who want to log in for a couple hours after work and mindlessly farm or kill NPCs. Frustration free. For a litany of reasons NA seems to be against players doing that and as a result we simply don’t have many players...casual or otherwise.

Criticizing how others streams always cracks me up, especially when that person doesn't stream. If you can do better, go do better. Otherwise just shut up.

Risk verses reward
Christendom replied to Old Crusty's topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
Yesterday I sailed out to PVP without setting books, multiple times. I blame the UI and it's lack of intuitiveness. Anyway, I noticed a significant disadvantage in my ability to repair without having a single repair book equipped and no repair perms. I also noticed a slower reload and definitely was slower in battle overall without the shiphandling book, I think the biggest game changer in the current game meta is your ability to repair. -

Risk verses reward
Christendom replied to Old Crusty's topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
It’s reward vs effort. In WoW quests or items took months to grind, but players endured it because the juice was worth the squeeze. In naval action it very much never the case. This is an open world full loot MMO game. PVP is meant to be rapid and losses easily recoverable. DLC ships and their popularity is enough proof of this. This patch is a complete opposite of that mindset and is floundering as a result. -
Risk verses reward

If payouts and prices of ships are meant to be this way and won’t change, it might be worth revisiting the idea of ship duras again. -
Risk verses reward

VLast night we had a 3v3 up on the east coast where my side was a bit out gunned, yet prevailed. I got 2 of the kills and we kept the bellona, it was a decent one and we knew we’d get hosed on doubloons for it. As predicted, I got 9 dubs as a reward and I think Wraith looted 100 or so from one of the holds. Let’s say in total we got 200 split between the 3 of us. Not even enough to purchase a navy hull. Not much for 2 hours work, albeit the bellona was a nice catch. The loser of the engagement risked everything and lost, with zero gain. Not a whole lot of incentive to go out there and try again. I got more doubloons snagging an AI tsnow on the way home. Quite frankly it’s a joke. While I was never a fan of the PVP mark system, one could sustain themselves with it and replace their losses. Now that PVP is so costly one had to grind AI just to get the ships to lose. The level of effort to get the coin to craft the ships is not worth the ease you could lose it. Ganking will be 100x more common. Doubloon payout needs to be significantly higher if this system is to succeed. 40:1 seems to be the ratio. As it stands currently the new econo / reward system seems rushed and poorly thought out.... much like this entire patch. Every single time this game moves toward a more hardcore and grindy stance people quit and this time is no exception. -
Sure once I figure out how to leave port

The main issue I see is almost all of the problems that have been expressed here in this thread are the same problems that were expressed in the "testing" threads we've been doing on the test realm for the past few weeks. Did nothing change? What was the point of the test realm if not to hammer out some of the issues before you patch.

With no contracts in ports we're hemorrhaging more money than Trump's trade policies. This needs to be fixed ASAP. @admin vamonos amigo!

Only one trying hard here bud is this post. Channel this effort into Naval Action. Might win once or twice. Less QQ and more Pew Pew baby. 🙂

good guess. I enjoy playing the game. Sorry? After the cap francais battle way back when I've made it my mission to make sure all our noses are clean. Even yours. https://gyazo.com/407d4c4cbafb40c810dce0e02690d5fe Maybe if you put in as much effort in game as you do here on the forums 7up would still be around and wouldn't of collapsed. Again. Say hi to russia for me!
