Alliances - final design
Sir Texas Sir replied to admin's topic in News Announcements & Important discussions
I'm hoping for something this so that clans can work for diffrent nations if they like. This will maybe cause some inner Pirate wars between clans too. This way since we aren't exactly a Nation and get votes we can just be the thorn in every one side including other pirates. To be honest even if folks have 2-10 alts they aren't going to make a big difference in the number of votes unless a lot of players with the same amount of alts all go one way. Though if they do that than you remove those alts I bet you the results for the votes would still be about the same. -
A Pirates Life
Sir Texas Sir replied to Captain Pickle's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
Not every one talks like a crusty old sailor. I do because I'm a former Sailor that has prob more time at sea than most of you every dream of. Just a Crusty old Shellback. Though I do not speak that way around my parents or even kids. Some of us (not myself) don't want to hear that type of language in game. This is currently an all age game so if your using foul language or insulting/attacks on folks than enjoy your chat ban. -
Server lag and packet lost is not the games fault. It's a router in root to the game server or even the game server it self. This is an alpha so they prob not using the top servers they would us when it goes live or speed of connections that is. It's nto like we are goign to keep any of this stuff so it's not worth cheating. I'm waiting for them just to do a wipe to shut you little cry babies up...oh wait you will cry and call it hacks even than.

I had a US player board my Mortar Brig doing 5.2 knots and did a report. It was the second time he boarded me and I was pretty much dead, but I wasn't pissed at that, it was the fact I was going 5.2 knots when he boarded and when the screen came up my ship was a full length from his. The US players told me to stop complaining and it was just lag. To me it felt like an exploit and my ping didn't change, but it could just as easly been packet lost/lag. So what did I do? I made an F11 report about it. I think it's server lag not cheats. People got to understand your ping won't all ways change when you get packet lost or lag issues and some of them could be routers on the way to the server not just the game server so only certain players in a region would be effected and not other players. Yah I'm going to say it's prob packet lost and lag. If you got more than one player hit by it and not in the same battle than it's not an exploit. We try to ask on nation chat or global to see how many others got hit by it and it tends to be more folks than just in our battle so it's not an exploit.

We where not loosing on the US side when my Clan switched. In Fact we had as a clan by our self taken a very close pirate port from them without any help from any other clans or US players. In fact most of the Bahama defence that keep ports in US hands was cause of our clan showing up. It wasn't until after we left and started to help the underman, but more organized Pirates that they keep taking ports from ya'll. AGAIN WE SWITCED cause of how TOXIC the older US players and some of the newer ones trying to prove something was to other players. You will never win when you keep the do it my way or the high way attitude that many of the US players have. You lost your best players cause of how much you treated them like crap not cause you where loosing. There are still a lot of great players on the US side and they will prob get burned out sooner or later. They are the guys that are still showing up at Port Battles and trying. If you guys get the stick out of your arse and stop thinking of just yourself and think of your Nation as a whole.....you would easly stop loosing so many ports and will be able to stand as the strong powerfull Nation you should be with the number of players you have compared to any other Nation.

Funny cause I leveled up on PvP1 EU server and than switched over to the US one when the population got decent. I only made two ranks while playing on PvP2 US. Since I have made one rank while a Pirate. So most of those ranks I didn't even make on PvP2 but I made on PvP1. I left that server cause of how they US treated new players over there. Than it started to be the same on the PvP1 server. This right here and the crap I get in global chat since is why I left. Cause ya'll are toxic to other players. To be exact when we switched the port turn around was about the same from US and Pirates. The steam roll didn't start until weeks after we switched. Even now we still show up with less players at Port Battles than the US brings and we still beat them. That is cause we don't show up in basic unmodded ships and we actually all get into one team speak and organize our attacks. Hell we don't even get with Spain or GB as they are just doing there own thing. Every one is just sick of the US holding onto almost over half the ports in game when they can't even keep them. This is being shown by how easily they are being taken by one of the biggest nations in game. Than when you just roll over and let us take them shows how you never had the power or control to keep them. You steam rolled other weaker nations to get those ports and it's time you get them taken from you and earn them properly. Fine if you don't like traitors than keep it in game. You do remember this is a game after all. I do play a National on PvP2 (not US any more and I deleted my char and started all new with him instead of porting things over from one nation to another). 60+ players? When have the Pirates been able to field a full 25 players for PB's. The US has many times in the past and still lost against over 5-10 more ships in a battle than the Pirates have. The problem is you bring basic un-modded ships and than have no organization. I know this cause I had been to many of those PB's we lost when we had way more numbers than the Pirates. We weren't loosing a ton of ports when my clan left. Though ya'll did start to loose them afterwards. We left a lot of players behind in our clan when we switched, but that didn't change much cause those that stayed where the guys that did't really show up for PB's any way. We wanted more PvP and port battles that was full of team work and that is what we got. SO now you just got rolled by about the same average 20-30 guys that get on every night and group together to win things. Something you can't even get US players to do any more. We are seeing still the same guys showing up at PB's on the US side and sadly they are the new players not the old cranky elitist that should be showing up every PB"s. Hell the other night I was tempted to contact one of those US players and offer to build him a new ship cause he keeps showing up over and over to those battles. Yep it's why I left the US on the PvP2 server and went to be a Privater for another nation since. It's why myself and others of my clan left cause we where getting treated like this in nation chat by other players cause we wanted to organize actual battles and work as a team. Something we are getting in the Pirate Group now and enjoying it. Hell I haven't even been going to most of the deep water battles cause I prefer the shallow water stuff and well it's like US elistest have just giving up even though they have all ways had the numebers and it's only the new players that show up and try.

I left PvP1 cause of how the US was treating players back when that server split with the mirror one. So what I did with my char there was turned him rat, but I didn't do it the switch over by hitting something after moving all my stuff. I deleted the char with a lot of gold and ships and started over with the rank and craft level only. Since I have turned Rat on PvP2 I have now took that same char and deleted him. I plan to make a National that isn't US to mess with the Alliance stuff, but haven't figure out what nation yet. Yah you can just easly move your stuff or go rat to become PIrate, but you can just as easy just delete that char and start all over. Remeber this is Alpha game testing so it's not like we are going to keep all that stuff any way. I actually think it would be good to wipe a lot of players stuff some time in the future to clean out the banks and reset the economy. Maybe when the game goes to a beta stage or something or when they bring the new Pirate mechanics so folks can choise to go back to national or stay a pirate. I know when the game goes live I'm prob going to make me a National char and if I end up with a second account I'll have my Pirate. That or have them on two diffrent servers cause some times you just want a diffrent play than just being a national. Other than that there isn't any special stuff that makes them OP.

Spain - RECRUITMENT! (PvP Two USA)
Sir Texas Sir replied to Jean Pual Vilvenue's topic in National news
Well he is British after all isn't he? They have been known to tend to be Carebears on most games I been on. All ways complain when others actually do things. Oh and I do econ, but I also fight the hell lot. What do you think supports the econ of a war machine? But it's every one else fault except them? That is funny how is it PvE when we are constantly doing Port Battles and PvP on the OW. Maybe the Brtis should of learned a long time ago and stop being a bunch of care bears. I mean how else is Spain to grow if they don't take ports? I'm surprised they haven't tried to take back part of the GOM yet, but I figure they are trying to get a good stable spot for now and not over extend them selves. Hell next we know the French might push to get back part of the GOM too. Why should they stay cluster up on a few islands way over there on one side of the map? -
Actually if you do any big fleets with AI you can get some pretty big lag. I use to play on PvP1 EU server until the split and I moved to PvP2 cause the population went up and I'm a US player. When I use to be on the EU server you could feel the issues when you did any big fleets not just PvP battles. So yes you can get issues with the PvE server being in EU and not the US any more. Oh and with the new maps they been showing there will be a merger of the two servers with both PvP and PvE on one server so yes it makes a big diffrence when you get forced to play on a server across the world. Unless they only Merge PvP1 and PvE and than just add the PvE zones for PvP2 for people to pick which they want to play on the EU or the US server. Which wouldn't be a bad thing. They still get the PvE zone of the better server and the option to PvP if they so choose or just stay in there safe zone.
-
What exactly is that advantage? I have yet to hear what they have and why they are OP other than they beat you and your letting us have it. Maybe it's more your tired of getting beat even when you have the odds you still loose and run away.
-
Toxic? Have you seen the crap the US players say to us that left? Those are some of the same crap we heard in US chat when we where still US players. It's the US guys that are toxic. I don't see any of us Pirates on here crying about being OP and such. Oh wait look who made some of those threads? Pretty much the same folks being rude in global too.
-
That cause your prob only doing missions at most? Try a Port battle with 25 vs 25 players and tell me how that ping and lag seems.
-
I think I figured it out, them running away all the time is just them doing this race?

We have one clan member that was worried about grinding up all his stuff when he switched over. We just gave him ships and money to set things up and he was back on his feet other than the fact he didn't have any BP's for his crafting, but he put the Gifted perk on him until he got all the BP's and more back. That was the part that killed me when I switched from PvP1 EU server to PvP2 US server I was mid level and had to grind all my BP's back up from my crafting levels. It didn't take me long even in a basic cutter to get caught up on ships and gold.

The hotfix's pretty much been just tweeking those new changes. That and a lot of game like to add content to the game you have before it's activated so that it doesn't take so long to do the updates of all the changes. I'll use The Division as an example. Most new guns that come out are on the files a patch before you can actually use them. They just don't unlock until the next patch comes out. So this is nothing new. It's there game and if they need to change something here and there it's ok with me. Though I do think a little not of saying hotfix tweeked fishing and bottles would be fine, but I all ready figure that was part of it. Some of them are to fix breaks in the game too.

Officer Perk Recruiting

Maybe in the future or if we could have more than one char in the same nation, but right now a lot of the crafters are also some of the most PvP active guys too. -
Devlog: Forthcoming content patches plan
Sir Texas Sir replied to admin's topic in News Announcements & Important discussions
That kinda brings up something if they do a merger than how will they handle folks with two different nations? I was US on both servers but made my PvP1 go Rat to test it out. Well since than my PvP2 char has gone Pirate. Since I deleted all my stuff on PvP1 I'm just going to make him a National again. Just haven't picked which nation and I don't think it will be US as I really didn't like the way the US players acted over there on PvP1 to new players. So any one want a National player from the US that only speaks English than let me know and I'll change him back to National. Just going to be broke with a cutter is all. Which really isn't that bad cause folks keep forgeting this is an Alpha and they can wipe out stuff at any time. They only promise we will keep our ranks and levels only. I'm really hope do port resets for the new content, but it would be nice if they give us a few days heads up to move our stuff around if need be. Good thing most of my stuff is done in free ports. -
There are actually a lot of US players I hate leaving cause of switching to the Black Flag. Though I enjoy battles with them and will tip my hat with respect when I see them. It's a mutual respect thing. Now there are other players I'll sink every dang time i see them without a heart beat. Where has freaking ELMO been any way? I'm kinda wondering what the ship lost count has been. I have lost only a mortar brig to a board and my stupid first attempt of fireship but other than that I have lost not ships to the US.
-
Remember all your ships and stuff don't cross over. So no money either. It's hard to grind up without help when you change servers and is rank up. To be honest I rarely got hit in PvP2 when I was leveling up and solo tradeing without a clan. If you get a clan they will watch out for you and help you. It's best to learn about PvP and such at an early stage so your not lost later when you switch over. It's not funny watching Captains and above PvP for the frist time and rage cause they are getting sinked by other players, "BUT THE AI NEVER SUNK ME LIKE THIS." That cause AI can be very predictable and are some times flat out idiots in combat. Players on the other hand....well they can be too, but many of them aren't and by that level they know there ships and the combos that can give some one a very bad day. I have used PvE to test a few things, but I dont' stay over there. Hell I sold that 2nd rate so I can buy some decent ships to grind and test a few things without other players around, but other than that I'm not on there. Oh and remember your labor hours are link to all your chars on all the servers. Though your blue prints aren't. So you will have to relearn all those Blue Prints you earned on one server.
-
Well ya'll do have like 3 times more parts than any one else has or should I say had. Not to mention this is what happens when you piss every one else off and all the Nations decide to say we are going to crush you....you know like you have done to them. US VS Pirate, GB, and Spain. Hell even France grabbed a flag last night....though they have no ports new by. I was expecting Holland and Danish to grab some too. You know when your in trouble if the Swedes end up jumping onto this action. OH AND ALLIANCE COMES OUT NEXT WEEK I THINK SO STOP YOUR CRYING. They prob going to reset ports any way when that comes out. You still got all that GOM to live in if you wish.
