Not enough players to allow for such that is why the EU Mirror got shut down and the PvE got moved to EU. They need to just merge it with the PvP1/2 servers and be done with it.

Patch 9.94 - Alliances, New ships, New features.
Sir Texas Sir replied to admin's topic in Patch notes
To be honest when you think about it say you hit a trader with your budy. That is a 2 vs 1 right. You don't got the perk so the battle is exactly the same as it is now. It's only if the attacker has the perk. Now say you are trying to hit that trader and some nice patrol guy hits you instead so now it's a 2 vs 2 as the poor trader prob gets pulled in. Well since this is prob in there own national waters back up comes to play. If they leave the port they have to wait on the port timer to join. So lets say they join in 2 mins later. That fight is a 4 vs 2 now cause only two guys joined, but the two that joined are about 2 mins away when they popped in cause the trader is running and the two guys are chasing him will playing with the one ware ship trying to let the trader get away. The two new guys still have to make it over to where ever the fight is now. Say 5 more mins pass and 10 guys join in. That is now a 14 vs 2 but the fight is prob spread all over the place. Well those two guys get some back up and 5 more guys join in. Thus now we have a 14 vs 7 and every one is spread all over the place. This can go on and on until it's a 25 vs 25 or the timer runs out of the first 30 mins and every one will prob be spread all over the place in the battle. Kinda like a port battle gets when groups get spilt up and fighting in different parts or when you do fleets and you got a few AI and NPC ships that wonder off some where way out of range that are all that is left and you have to now go up wind to catch them and finish the missions.-

Patch 9.94 - Alliances, New ships, New features.
Sir Texas Sir replied to admin's topic in Patch notes
They even said the cargo holds will never be that big and it was just a place holder to help with folks getting things moved around and such. I kinda like it as you can put more in warships and actually get your rewards at the end of Pb's andother battles and you don't have cargo ships loaded down with multi million dollars of stuff. -
Patch 9.94 - Alliances, New ships, New features.
Sir Texas Sir replied to admin's topic in Patch notes
We should never just expect an easy target. It's like the guys that complain about Fleet AI ships with a player. What makes that fight any diffrent than if you where fighting three PC ships instead of one PC and two AI's? Would you still attack that ship knowing all three ships are players compared to one player and two AI's? I would think you would go look for easy targets or get your own back up. Remember not every ship will have these perks and you should never know if one captain has the upper hand or not. And as you keep saying folks forget this is an ALPHA and we are testers. If it is found out it's OP it will get changed.-

As much as I liked the fact we could get ships moved around a lot faster, but to be honest this will make planning attacks and defense more important a head of time and folks can't just port there combat ships over fast to an area. You actually need to keep ships spread out to the are's you need to fight in or patrol.

You still have to port in to change them so it's not exact insta changes. It really blows my mind how many people can't get this through there heads we are in ALPHA and we are the TESTERS. -
Patch 9.94 - Alliances, New ships, New features.
Sir Texas Sir replied to admin's topic in Patch notes
Servers just went down for the updtate, but I'll be sure to test this out with my LVG NPC trader hunter once they get back up. -
Even worse is some one tries to post a ship at a good decent price and some players will buy it and than post it up again at a much more jacked up price than before. This was hurting new players big time. It blew our mind when we saw how low the prices was in MT compared to CT. Oh and speaking of good prices I was doing some port hopping in a trader last night and popped into the Spanish capital and they are doing the same, hell I think they have the lowest prices I seen in any of the capitals. This helps support there new players and those that might want to make new chars in that nation but have the Rank. Though it's not a lot of ships, but it's a good thing for helping there nation out. Good JOB SPAIN. The last part is pretty much why most of us left. In fact many of the Pirates pulled us a side and asked us why we left when we first switched over. Pretty much they keep getting the same answer over and over about how Toxic some US players (not all as there is some great players still in the US Nation). Before we switched we would give good fights at end of battles we even lost to the Pirates for just that, it was a good battle. Cause of that we got called traitors and we where to friendly with them. Guess what when you fight the same guys over and over you get to know each other and there is no reason you can't be on different teams and still be civil and respect each other. It's normally the sore loosers that get nastie. I will take a lost over and over to some one with good sportsmanship after battles any day. Hell I was joking about one of the guys that keeps showing up for shallow water battles and being sunk by us making him a new ship and giving it to him for free for the good spirit of the battle.

Alliances - final design
Sir Texas Sir replied to admin's topic in News Announcements & Important discussions
Like other games I think you should only be able to have alts in the same nation on the same server. For most of those it's for extra econ hours and nothing more, but hay some folks might have more. I had like 5 in POTBS cause I was a ship builder and it helped on my econ that I didn't need any one else. All of them Spain nation exept one French that I used for wine production. -

And 5% isn't really that much at all. This will just help the crafter/trader level out a bit faster than the guys that do nothing but PvP. You be suprised how much leveling has been just from my travels around doing Econ. -

Yah I went to bed early and got up early expecting the patch to be live. Now I have to go do like that RL stuff. Hopefully it will be live by time i get back home this eve. And to see who might be dealing with ships to the other Nations, specially one you might be at war with. For all the others I was going to say the same thing Intrepido. I see a lot of people forget this is ALPHA and we are the TESTERS for the Dev Team. I do like the concept of putting a cool down on the perk changes eventually. I'm kinda glad they removed the 3 perk penalty for reset cause I want to try a bunch of combos and right now I'm doing that by playing around on EU, PvE and US servers with different builds. Now I can do that all on my main server of play PvP2 US. This way I can put the mortar brig perk on when I want to use that ship for port battles and remove it when I plan to just be PvP for the day or doing a bunch of crafting stuff. This will allow us to try more perks and test them and give feed back on them for the Dev Team. Hurry up and put this patch live now...so I can start testing things out. -
The other day I was in a shallow water PB and I was boarded doing 5.2 KNOTS and when in the boarding screen my ship was almost a full length a head of the other guys. I did an F11 for it cause I knew he would get me, but he shouldn't of got that second board at that speed and it was really fast after the first board so felt like the reset timer hadn't even warn off either. That and seems a like the AI has been very heavy geared with board modes cause they are doing almost twice the damage on there attacks as I am even though I have more marines and muskets and crew in the fight.

Economy Addition: Whaling as a Profession
Sir Texas Sir replied to tylerf's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
But it's ok to have ranks like DEMONS and DEVILS instead? We where just talking about this today. I don't care but I think it's funny how some folks will flip out about just about anything not PC. I would be all for freeing some slaves and killing evil slavers and even doing the same to whalers. -
Why don't you keep your mouth shut about stuff you don't know. We plan to update when we got more stable. In fact it was only 8 players that switched over, the rest (about 10 that was active and 10 not active) have stayed in US. Some even joined other clans by tags I seen. So UNKN is currently Pirate and it's members is about 11 at this exact time with all member active and growing. Hell some of those players that aren't as active might still switch over so the number isn't final as it's only been a week and half since we switched over.

Pirate Mechanics Vote
Sir Texas Sir replied to B4NGSPL4T's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
Most Privateers where called Pirates by the nation they attacked for there sponsored Nation. IE if he was a French Privateer and he took a spanish ship. Spain would call him a Pirate. So would maybe British if he took some of there merchant ships too. They tend to slide off the letters of there powers a bit and that what makes them pretty much Pirates to any one else. -
Pirate Mechanics Vote
Sir Texas Sir replied to B4NGSPL4T's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
I would like to see more ships like Pirate Frigate and they can even keep them only basic ships so folks won't jump on the "THEY ARE OP" Wagon. They can do some combo's like Take a deck of guns off and add a bigger cargo hold (not trader level but more than the warships have). Stay wiith the ligher armor, but more gun and/or crew on some ships. It's not like we can't capture any of the SOL any way, but if we do I think there should be a big bounty on your head to have that ship sunk or returned. -
Guess I missed the pre-edited version of this. You want to know something CBR DIDN"T GIVE ME CRAP. The only thing that I got from that clan was Speedfreak on his own offered to craft a Surprise for me if I brought him all the mats and the labor contracts. Which I brought to him plus a little extra. All items I built myself and gather after solo playing for a long time since EA started and than starting over when I switch to the US server after making 1st Lt. Was half way to Master Com when I asked to get the ship made. He made the ship like most good crafters do to get the XP from making the ship to rank up. I have no issues with him and still think he's an ok player. All the other crafters I talked to wanted me to do all the mats, bring the labor contracts and than they wanted me to pay pretty much full price for the ship. This is a thing we see a lot in US with crafters. It wasn't the clan that did this, it was one player that was helping out a player that switched over from EU and had to grind all the way up in ships to a Cerberus to get to his level and wanted to get his next ship crafted and I did. No one else has helped me from day one on either server as I was a very solo player. I didn't even get into my first PB until I joined UNKN. So before you start saying things you might want to actually learn the facts. The players I still respect aren't the ones on here name calling or doing so in chat in game. Hell most these guys like your self I have never dealt with in game before I turned Pirate. Apparently I was pretty popular if I effected ya'll that much to piss you off? I now build ships for my clan and I have never asked for anything from the players in my clan. Most of them give me a little this or that to help out but I do it to help the clan. Yah he just keeps raging and raging and I don't even know why he has so much hate for me.
-
Yah I think it's funny he tells me to take a chill pill and he's the one snapping at me. Oh and speaking of the topic the other night when we went from Walker Cay to West End I got hit by a lag spike where I was going 0 knts and than skipped a head a bit on the OW. It's prob lost of packets lag spikes not some one hacking the game. Lag switches are mainly used on hosted games to cheat by the person that is hosting the game. Not to mention it's a very old thing used a good while ago and most games are created with defenses against them. Again that is cause most of the folks that use them are on hosted games they host themselves to cheat and rule the game. Mainly older FPS.

Not to mentioned most pirates where just Privaters for one country and was listed as Pirates for others. Yah the only time you really saw a prize come back was in the Navy as they will ransom or refit them for service. This is why I think Nationals should have a send to Admiralty that only sends it to be sold. you never see it and you get your prize crew back when you get back in port. As for others they need to take that ship back to there home port to refit it, scrap it or sale it. It shouldn't be a click button and it's sent back home and you keep saling like nothing happen. I would love a surrender option that you can ransom off a payment to keep some of your cargo and crew after a battle instead of loosing every thing. Since the winner would have to haul the ship back himself or as an AI that would mean they would be more willing to let you go after such ransom and pickings of your cargo.

Did you even think of any AI fleets/ships around when you tagged him? I just hit a Trader Snow cause I was board and wanted to test out a new ship build. I got into battle and there was a Navy Brig in the battle too cause he was close by. Not every battle that has AI is cause of a player fleet. The exact same is if that other ship was a player you didn't see. Now you aren't just playing against one player and AI you are now fighting two players. What is the diffrence? To me I would prefer to fight the one player and an AI than two players cause the AI tends to not be the smartest ship on the sea with it's actions. We do care. We use LVG's and Indiman all the time to haul cargo from one area to another. Should of seen our fleets the night we switched from US to Pirates, some one could of been a very happy camper, but we ran with others as escorts until we got out in the BLUE WATERS. Just how do you think we get that "INTERNAL" system of provisions? They should. What is the difference from you hitting one ship and two AI's or hitting three players? Nothing other than what controls that ship. You don't want to hit something with a high BR that you can't fight than don't hit it and pick a more easy target. Pirates waited for a prime easy target to take. They didn't rush after every escorted ship. So if you see a Trader with two escorts (AI or Player) will you hit him cause you are out matched or will you wait for the solo player and easy target to come along. Sounds like you don't want to wait and just want the easy target. You need to stop thinking of just the player but the ships as a whole no mater if they are run by player or AI. Wait for a more easy target or get some friends to help you if your out number. There is nothing stopping you from using AI or even getting...>GASP< other players to help you.

You could all ways put a prize crew on it and add it to your fleet and take it back to port with your main ship.

Devlog: Forthcoming content patches plan
Sir Texas Sir replied to admin's topic in News Announcements & Important discussions
To me that Brotherhood is more like how clans should be. We might not all get along and might even war between clans, but your brother/sister within the clan you know have your back. Never trust any others though and defently never trust a National. I wish they did work the Pirate vs Pirate system better so it can be used and not abused. There is an issue with the Pirates being ran like Nationals. I was just told this morning that they should take away SOL from PIrates cause it's a tool and we should have every tool Nationals do. Uh no we shouldn't cause we are not NATIONALS. We should be the thorn in there side, some times the breaking tide of a fight when we help one side or another or neither. We should war among our selves over who gets to raid what area. We should not be capturing ports, we should be raiding them. -
Actually many Pirates where actually Privateers for one country but any one he had permission to attacked would call him a Pirate. To be honest I don't like the fact we have Pirates running around in mostly heavy frigates and SOL's all the times. Those ships if even used should be for PB"s and only special ones. That is why I don't think Pirates should be able to make them, but they can capture them though, but if they do than it's like a RED HOT HUNT KILL ON SIGHT BY ALL to be in one. Keep them to the frigates and light ships like they where normally in history. Though since they don't have SOL's give them more ships like the Pirate Frigate that has some twisted stats....more crew, cargo, or guns at the cost of other stats. Let them raid a port and those that where involved get a pay out of econ items that port would of made in said time. Like 3 days of port production that the Nats can't use cause it was raided (give it time to rebuild it self pretty much). THey don't have ports of there own (except a few that are Pirate only ports) and they can use all Freetown unless they are smuggling. In these free towns are the only place they can do econ buildings in. They will be spread out more so they will need to depend on the raids and hitting traders more than actually producing the goods. Allow clans to align with Nations if they wish so that if say you have Clan A and they are under pay from the British, but Clan B is helping the US and US and British is a war. Well the pirates can join that nation they are helping but not the other, and they can fight each other too while in those battles, but they only get xp for helping not just Pirate VS Pirate battles. This will keep them from uniting into one big nation and will keep them fractured. Well for the most part and those Nations will prob have to have a way to pay them for there service or face having them turn on them. This game really needs to be more keyed around the mid ship levels for PVP and most battles, not who every can bring the biggest ships and the most of them wins. This is prob why shallow water ports battles tend to be more popular with the masses cause even low level players can get involved.

Actually it was only 9, two of our current 11 was brought in after switching to the Pirate Nation. We had like 42 when we took the change. Only half of those where really active at the time we switched as we had about 20 players with average of 10-15 on during prime times. So we lost/left about 10 players in US and I haven't even seen any of them show up, but I know they have joined a few of the clans still around. So yah not every one of took the change and we respected those that stayed and have not bad mouthed or even shamed them like the rest of the US has done to us in Global.
