They all ready have that server it's called PvE..... -
Barricades right now in game give you a bonus to Melee and firepower for boarding. Shouldn't this also give you crew defense bonus from grapping and such too? Cause that is what it pretty much does is protection on the deck for them to hide behind and shoot from. I was thinking about this cause it seems the meta now is to grape folks crews down just encase they are boarders. Well if some one was board fit or even if just a trader with a edge against Pirates/Privateers (see I pick on our guys too) to keep them from boarding and graping there crew should get a bonus to defense against such things like grape shot on a broad side. I'm pretty sure there are a few other mods that might have other cross over from boarding to ship battle and such that could be useful ways to give ships more a rounded build instead of them being strictly all COMBAT or all BOARD Fitted. This would go great if we can ever get a Musket/Sharp shooter action while in ship combat that if your close to each other and have Marines they can actually shot a few crew off each other ships. This would be a good way to deter some of the small boats that love to stern camp the bigger ones that might have marines (or just traders with them).

Devlog: Forthcoming content patches plan

Are even more that Trader you hit isn't actually a trader. I would love some more modified ships like the Pirate Firgate. The problem is most folks start to know names pretty fast. So it would have to hide the name until your in battle and we all know the care bears will cry bloody hell if we had something like this.-

Ok let me give you a little lesson from my grand pa. You want to know why moonshiners got away a lot of times? Cause they don't use common off the show floor cars. They take a car or even truck as he use to run with a false bottom bed and they modified it. You know what has come of them silly moon shiners? NASCAR. The speed perk on the Pirate side to me is that the pirates remove extra stuff from the ship to slime line her. Remember most of them worked out of a port close by and did short raid trips while Military and exploration vessales some times was out at see for months if not years before returning home. They need a lot more stuff on there ship to stay out longer than pirates did. Mrdoomed already brought up that Military/Naval vessels are more disciplined and trained that is why they would get the reload perk. Take the movie and book (have never read it) Master and Commander. Remember them doing the cannon drills so they can fire faster and get there two broad sides onto the larger more gunned french vessels? Well that right there is what the Pirate hunter skill pretty much is. When I was in the Navy and was at sea we drilled three nights a week and this was after our normal work hours we where up doing drills. The point is they beat it into so much that it becomes second nature when something really does happen you don't think, you just do it. See I just gave you two examples how they are magic skills.-

NA - officer perks poll
Sir Texas Sir replied to jodgi's topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
It has something to do more with a percentage as it's not exactly .5knts either for all ships. It can go up or down I think depending on the actual speed of the ship. -
I have my tripple Privateer fleet ready to raid the shallow water traders....I mean noobies...I mean seal clubbers...yah them evil bad seal clubbers.

DEVS have even come on your (BRIT) channel and told you guys we are not the largest nations. The most populated on PvP2 is US and than BRITS. The probelm is we ware the most organized though. You ever did a look at all the port battles and the names you see over and over and over and over? I'm going to bet it's pretty much the same 15-20 guys with a few others thrown in that you see over and over. We are just nation at this time per the Devs (Pirate Rebulic to be exact lasted 11 years per DEVS). We only get part of teh mechanics that you guys do. We don't get alliance and wew have every one at war with us. As per you little magic perk thing look at Pirate hunter, with the right combo of mods you can have 25% faster reloading guns against pirates. Tell me that isn't OP? Maybe if ya'll would stop running from fights as soon as one or two guys get sunk (and almost every time when you had us out number) you might actually when a few fights. Stop rigging your ships to run and turn and fight. Than the 1 knt will be useless and believe me our 1st rates are not rigged to chase folks down, they are built to tank in fights. Might be why they don't sink as fast as the Brits and US? In due time the DEVS will get to the Pirates and make there changes but right now they are working on the National mechanics of the game. YOU ARE HERE AS A ALPHA TESTER JUST LIKE WE ALL ARE.........SO TEST THE GAME.-

NA - officer perks poll
Sir Texas Sir replied to jodgi's topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
Really? It's not that hard to figure out Light ships are any ship you use low notes on. Which just happen to be 7th-6th. Frigates you need Mid Notes to craft so that is your 5th-4th. Lineships are your SOL which are your 3rds to 1st and need High grade notes. I'm sorry this really isn't that hard to figure out unless your just clueless about the rest of the game. As for the pirate/pirate hunter I have never used either cause I prefer the reload/speed buff you get for using the one for the ships class. Some folks say pirate hunters 10% isn't worth it than think about this. Frigate Master, Exception Powder Monkey, Execptional Mag, Exeptional Rum Ratiosn is a total of 20% to your reload. And folks are wondering why we are out reloading them? 20% is a very big chunk of your reload time when your speaking of a minute pluss for some of the big guns. So now lets remove Frigate master with the Pirate hunter. You now have 15% against other Nats but if your hunting pirates that is now a 25% reload bonus against the. This can make or break some figths specially in Port Battles when your using Frigates and SOL's. While in Port battles the Pirate perk is pretty much useless. Well unless you plan to run away or something? Again the Pirate hunter shouldn't be running he's ffighting the Pirate to keep him from running. If a Pirate doesn't get a head than he's prob screwed cause noe he's fasing some one with +25% reload on there guns. So now tell me what perks are OP? -

Few suggestions.. sailing,combat
Sir Texas Sir replied to themule08's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
They really need to fix number three. I gotten nothing but grey drops from curse missions and regional port battles. I haven't gotten anything from PvP in open world other than cargo and XP/Gold but that is fine. Just don't see why I"m getting a grey mod in Regional Batles with SOL's is all. Though I hear folks getting MC and Gold drops doing solo low level missions and such. -
Privateer cant attack bigger traders
Sir Texas Sir replied to Fuzzyhead12's topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
I actually wanted to try a Live Oak Privateer with two Teek Privateer in it's fleet for trade hunting in shallow waters. That way they shouldn't be slower than me with mods and can keep up. -
Privateer cant attack bigger traders
Sir Texas Sir replied to Fuzzyhead12's topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
This should take into account if they do this and the ships are undercrewed too. A lot of times they put the number crew to sail them but you see no real performance lost in AI when they are getting undercrewed. Nothing irks me more than grapping an AI ship down and have it still out turn you and some times out gun you. Also have seen AI ships with low sails still turn on a dime. Than again I make sure to tag folks AI"s when they run so the AI stays in and when they leave they surrender meaning they loose all crew on them from there pool. If they don't have kits on them and they don't have a port close they tend to start to run out of crew to fight. -
Like getting a foot hold of the area's around them. I know some might think about going to mess with one nation or the other, but than I rememinded them there will only be 10 PB's a day and we will all see where the AGRO Is going on. So you know that area will be sworming with others wanting to fight.

Question about release.

I'll be honest every time I type EA I keep thinking it's EA games....and have to keep from throwing up. -
Escaping Traders should get something for escaping. I know some folks will say jsut escaping is your reward, but when you sit there and escape 3 ganks in a row than you prob should get something. They get a reward for what little damage they do to you but you get nothing? I don't want any gold, but a little xp bonus for gettin away would be nice. Nothing that could be called game breaking or used to exploit, but something would be nice. Also we should exit the battles at the point you escaped to not where you started. This will stop the gank camping after being tagged. Cause folks just sit on the spot that some one was tagged at and they hit them again. Now say I ran down a coast line and you can see the ports as you battle and I run and escape at another port point that is where I should apear on the OW not back at the port I was tagged at.

US server connection issue
Sir Texas Sir replied to Ink's topic in News Announcements & Important discussions
Makes me wonder how man of these guys actually PvP or do port battles? My FPS doesn't change cause of the server I'm on, it's my ping that does. I get about 50-60 on the US server cause I'm central US. I get around 135-160 on the EU server and I started playing there. Though when I started to finaly get into PvP and Port Battles I noticed big diffrence of my game performance going out the window and I'm not on some potatoe....it's the ping goes out the window and you don't see shots when they happen, you fire to late or to early and miss constantly. You shoot into the water when there use to be a ship there or the waves change your aim. There are a lot of issues when playing with really bad ping and I'm not even one of them poor ASIAN or AUSSIE players. That and lets not get into the issue of player friendly ness on the much bigger server population. -
Question about release.
Sir Texas Sir replied to Fataldutch's topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
And remember cause we are ALPHA testers and this is an EA game we won't see all the content. Look at the UI they don't plan to release until the game is released. Which will be a suprise to us when we see what it's going to be like in the final product. If you have ever BETA tested a game you will know that they leave a lot of content and even story out of the testing so it will be new and a suprise to folks when they play the final product. We are here to test the mechanics of the game out. Up until recently I would only pop in and play a few days after each patch to check out the new content and give my feed back. Now that more and more stuff is being put into the game I find myself on pretty much every day playing. Every time I find something wrong in game I F11 and report it or come on here and give my feed back. That is what my current job as an ALPHA tester in this game is, folks tend to forget that and look at this as a finished product which it is no where close to being. Hell I just want them to get to the pirates mechanics and I'll be happy...or really pissed off....lol -
To Merge or Not To Merge?
Sir Texas Sir replied to Taranis's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
I still don't even understand why they want transfers. Every thing is going to get wiped when the game goes live so why would it hurt you so much to switch back over now? It's not like you can't grind up a lot of that stuff fast any way. I think to many folks are sitting on to much gold and ships that we prob should do a pre-wipe any way and make folks start on what there is in game and not on stuff they collected early when it might of been easy to get such gold and ships and stockpile so much. REMEMBER THIS IS A ALPHA TEST. All that pretty gold and ships you won't get to keep when it goes live. Hell I'll be suprised if they don't wipe it when they go Beta like most games do. With that this topic is getting old, if there is going to be any mergers it's going to be PvE onto the other two servers with there own little area. To be honest that server is a lot more waste or resources than any other server, but you have to catter to those that don't want PvP even if it's a very small percentage. Though that doesn't mean they have to give them the full experience of the games. Many games do PvE zones instead of full servers of PvE. Just stay in that zone/coastal area and you will be fine. Hell lately a lot of PvE guys have been coming over to PvP2 (sure it's the same for PvP1) cause they are board and want action now that they have leveled up. -
2 Officers Please
Sir Texas Sir replied to Captiva's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
To be honest as we rank up and get more screw and more ships that is exactly what we are. More of a Admiralty of our own fleets than the actual captains of those ships. I just thought the only issue with the officer per ships is that when you capture other ships and you get a one DURA. Well you would put a prize crew on that ship. I think there should be no magic teleporting that ship back like we have now. That ship needs to be added to your fleet and you need to put a prize crew on it and sale it back to one of you ports to keep it. And you should be limited to crew on hand not your crew pool for such actions. This would cut done on the use of AI fleets as you need to keep that crew number with you and the slots open to keep a prize when you capture one instead of just magically teleportation it back. Though I"m not sure how the system would work with such an officer. Maybe you get the perks of that players officer on that ship until it's sunk? Since it's only one Dura? -
2 Officers Please
Sir Texas Sir replied to Captiva's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
I had said this many times that they should have the officer based on that ship. The longer that ship is used and stays alive the more expierence the officer and crew become. Say you have a ship that just won't go down and it's been in over 25 fights. It will have more perks and skills than say a fresh ship with a new officer. Though it would mean ships with less DURA would be harder to train your officers up, but than those ships are suppose to be more rare than your average frigates too. The same can be done with a the shore officers. It is based on the out post there. So say you can have more than one shipyard. One shipyard has a better crew/officer working there. This xp is what allows you to go from a level 1 shipyard to a level 3. It will be more xp based than paying for it. THough I would bring the cost to make the building up, but make the ranking an expierence thing so the longer you produce things out of that building the more productive it becomes. -

And a lot of folks take breaks between patches. I'm going to bet when this next patch comes out we will see number spikes on both servers. -
It's down again....multi time today. I think I"m just going to stay logged out and go play something else or do that dreaded thing, "READ A BOOK."
