2/3's is a bit much but one thing I think you should get rewarded for you damage. I can see not getting any marks unless you get Kills or assist, but a player should get rewared if anything xp for his damage. That way if some poor guy gets sunk he can still gain something back from the fight. It won't pay for every thing, but he gains something. Right now the only way you get rewarded in any battle including port battles is you have to kill or assist in a kill. Your going to have a lot of folks kill stealing (all ready see it) in both OW battles and Port Battles to get the rewards. This type of reward system only brings out the worse in folks. The other thing as before you said your going to lower the cost of ship building so that folks can just easily buy a ship and be back out there. Well your cost of building is not cheap. Nore are the cannons. The cost of production can be lower and that will lower the over all cost of things.
-
Pretty much do these things and you can drop the prices of some of the trade items and folks won't need them so much and maybe make the cargo for traders a bit more of a reward instead right now you get the most reward from one of two things. Trade runs or solo a fleet mission, but even than it's hardly costing production of goods to get things up and going.

What Are The Ship Trees.
Sir Texas Sir replied to Crayon's topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
And by our math that wasn't even the second slot of the Connie you will have gained enough XP to make RA in game. Wasn't the 1st or secon slot of the Santi 20K just for one slot. So it gets bigger and bigger for each slot as you go up the tree. Effectivly to be good or master in a ship you must master every ship below that ship. -
Not our problem don't ya'll have like three times our numbers? French is even taking a port and they are smaller than US and GB. Us Pirates haven't done any flips cause we want to get into our PvP ships and a good source of back up money, cannons and ships first. So maybe ya'll just need to get a bit aggressive and take some easy ports. Than again Pirates have coal ports. We prob loose one of them soon though and than we will have to haul it from Kidds region.
-
The problem is that is production price at the best. But the reality is I'm sailing them for 4000 and folks are buying them. I just figured a little higher than the store mediums since they resources i have to spend labor hours on (are you counting that?) and travel of getting my goods to port. Brtis took Cartegena de Indies (spealling) on Global....that is prob another close Coal source. Our US flipped the region below. SO they can get it if they get off there arse and go for it. I'm really not having an issue with coal as most of the stuff unless you want longs or big Carros take charcoal any way.
-
The brits on global took one south today, so do what they did, go cap a region that has it.

Preatty sure not yet, but it's not like we have a lot of ships to play with right now with either not being sold in shop or just can't craft yet.

Wiki Help Wanted!
Sir Texas Sir replied to Powderhorn's topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
Yah that is the spread sheet that many members of BLACK clan put together on testbed. Figure I would start sharing it since we haven't gotten an official on. That was done before a few wipes on test bed so can't say how accurate it is. I have a few mods I will try to add to the wiki latter when I can. -

Yah I think I know who, we think it was Admin by the questions, but you never know. The only Dev's or mods I know for sure use the same names here and there. -
Basic Cutter needs a change
Sir Texas Sir replied to a topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
We took 9 out and took down the mast by stern raking it and decrew an LVG which is slightly tougher than a Surprise. We prob could of done a Surprise too with that group, only lost one guy in the fight. Though it was only AI but the point is they can be nasty with no worries of lost. Temporary or not it still not going to stop folks from trolling with them in Pirate vs Pirate or other means. Folks been using basic cutters in the past for tagging and trolling. I like what some one said about make it's BR zero so it can't pull any other ship into a fight other than AI or another basic cutter player. Like I said above we had one guy pull a Surprise into a fight and I"m pretty sure that is way higher than the x4 curve thing (unless I'm mistake) for BR pull right or does Pirate vs Pirate not use the same BR rules? -
We are still waiting on this....any word? Also tonight on global somethings where talked about. Could be nice if you actual did a little explanation of how the drops/refits and such work. Right now it seems it's random and really here is no reason to conquer a region. As I said I can and have gone into ports not owned and bought goods like the Crooked Cedar. So refits or nothing more than a random RNG drop that any one can get no matter the region. Why can't Pirates get the Pirates refit free. Each nation have there own refits they get and the only way other nations can get them is by capturing a ship that has the refit on it. Right now you can have with the luck of the RNG gods a bunch of British players with Pirate refit and none of the pirates with them. You can have a bunch of French with Spanish refit and etc and etc....it's all RNG now. If each nation had there own special perk about them than it would give folks to pick one nation over the other. You can do something like. PIrates are good with sails so they get a speed buff. British are good with there guns so they get a reload buff. French are accurate with there guns so they get an accuracy buff. American's are known for there strong built ships so they get a buff to HP/thickness. Spanish tend to have more agil ships so they get an agiltiy buff. Dutch are known for being mechant traders give there cargo holld a buff. No clue for the Swedes and Danes, but each buff can be small and even can be done like a refit BP that only know how to craft if your part of that nation. Than the refit can be put on a ship.
-
That was a gift ship, prob be reserved by Devs to gift out like the SC is. Devs have said the Rattler, Niagara and Ingermanland are all special drops or something like that, so maybe you get them from rare drops from ships you kill? Makes me wonder about the H. Rattler. I still think it should be put in the Pirate Den with the P. Frigate since all the other nations get 8 ships in there shop.
-
It's suppose to have 4000 cargo space according the talk with Dev in global chat this morning. SO it's still the big boy hauler.
-
Yah we just found this out tonight, all happy we got the BP in the clan and the clan mate made it and was blown away as he would of just saved the PvE marks we pooled and got the Indmanian instead. Devs said no the LGV is a blockaid runner not a true trade ship.

Basic Cutter needs a change
Sir Texas Sir replied to a topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
You need to be sent to friendly port on death instead of a Freetown. I been sent to a Freetown every time and had to buy a basic cutter to get back to my ports and my other ships (the few I have right now). Than do like POTBS did, you can only get your fallback ship which leveled a bit up with you as you leveled if you had no other ships. This way you can't use a basic cutter if you own other ships. Though I would say if you have other ships in docs. -
Basic Cutter needs a change
Sir Texas Sir replied to a topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
This kinda falls into the problem we pirates are seeing with the Pirate vs Pirate and guys trolling others in basic cutters. They mainly go after Traders, but they have hit ships like Surprise with no means to win for the most part. I was kinda surprised by that one, when a cutter pulled in a Surprise for a Pirate vs Pirate. We sunk him, but he just said, "I don't care I loose nothing." -
Even if it's just a small percentage like how you get a few cannons from some of the AI ships would be cool.

Patch thoughts.
Sir Texas Sir replied to HachiRoku's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
you should of seeded us with cannons and a little starting money or repairs for the ships we got, than we could fight each other than having to fight newbies and others just struggling. I get more from taking a Trader Brig than I do for a Basic cutter (no pvp marks for them) but now that players out of a means to make money. Since he doesn't have it he can't get money to get cannons to put in his bigger ship unless he just grinds nothing but his basic cutter. We went to KPR tonight and had a swarm of basic cutters came out to fight us. We got a trader brig, killed a few basic cutters, but lost a Surprise (he did get cocky and went into the green zone) in that fight, other than the Trader Brig player no one really lost anything on the Brits side. Right now most folks won't risk there other ships cause it will break them to buy new cannons for the other ships or even new ships to make up for the ones lost. -
Patch thoughts.
Sir Texas Sir replied to HachiRoku's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
Would like to see a video of that....than again your a Dev you know all the ends and out of the game. A new player won't and any time I gone against a ship of that level they crew shock me ever hit and sink me. -
Crafting = worthless + Fixes <Updated>
Sir Texas Sir replied to Lady Athena's topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
It's not really the labor hours that are killing me, it's the cost of the production of things like woods mainly. I'm burning through so much money just trying to produce that as soon as I make it from grinding it's gone. And this is with clan mates pooling in other resources to help each other. We got several guys making cannons now so that is going to cut a lot of guys cost, but if they sink we can't get new ones built fast enough to replace them. Only one player has a shipyard but we haven't gather mats other then to make one LVG. Which by the way holds less than a Trader Brig (not much about same). So that was a suprise to us. I just found a white oak fro 18K so I think your price is a bit low.- 48 replies

While these can be fun and we have had a few good battles, but we are starting to see a trend. The majority of the guys hitting traders and other pirates around Mort are only in a basic cutter and flat out a small group has said, "I don't care this ship is free." My suggestion is that maybe locking Basic Cutter from being able to do pirate vs pirates. Keep it so that they can do normal fights and tagged by other nations, but just can't do Pirate vs Pirate cause we are all ready seeing guys that are trolling in their Basic Cutter tagging folks just to pull them into a fight. It's risk free for them cause they get every thing back free.

For the trade ships blue prints and permits. I did think the Devs said we could get some of the ship knowledge books with them but I checked and they all want PvP marks. NOt that you can get PvP there, but maybe PvE server as it's the only place with an exchange, but thought that was PvE into PvP marks for them.

Love letter to the devs
Sir Texas Sir replied to Captain Lust's topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
If it was global chat most likely he was a Moderator and not one of the Staff/Devs. They don't know every thing, they are players just like the rest of us for the most part. If you want answers it's best to get them on here. Though I have to keep reminding some one about the Ship Knowledge Tree, but I'm not getting pissy about it. I'll just keep reminding folks would like this data. Over all I'm happy with the patch other than the fact I think part of the problem a lot of folks are having was caused by lack of start up money or cannons and the grind right now.
