Public "API" for Naval Action
Sir Texas Sir replied to raskolnikoff's topic in News Announcements & Important discussions
Other than these woods all other things are suppose to be produced and sold by players. -
DO NOT IMPROVE AI BOARDING. I'm sorry they get marines, Barricades and a bunch of other things. If your doing it right and taking there crew down before boarding it's going to be easy for any one. Though if you match them in crew they can put a hurt to you if your a newb and don't know how to board. Hell I seen a guy loose when he had almost twice as many crew. It's easy for us that know how to board and what to hit and when. Also remember they will pull you if they have more crew than you. 99% of the boards I win against players is cause they have no clue what to do in a board. These same guys prob will get there arse handed to them by AI.

Ship Upgrade Knowledge Routesknowledge
Sir Texas Sir replied to Busterbloodvessel's topic in Guides - development forum
By our calculation it's the second slot of the Connie that you would hit RA most likely and that is only if you go up one line not if you try to go up both if you plan to play in SOL's ships also.- 75 replies

pirates using outlaw battles to keep traders safe
Sir Texas Sir replied to King of Crowns's topic in Tribunal - Трибунал
To be honest I have to agree, but I think the same for the Spanish, French and Brit refits too and the other nations should have there own. The only way to get these refits should be by capturing a ship from some one of those nations and you might luck out to get one refited with them. That would make capturing ships way more rare surprise thing than how it is now. It would also make every nation slightly there own from each other. Wanted to add on testbed when I first got on it I thought Rattlesnake Figurehead was only int the Pirates Den. That would been another thing they could of done was give pirates a few that the Nationals don't have. Along with some of the ships not in game right now would be great in the shop. -

shhhhhh *hides the BP's he got last night from some random kinda National* We would never do a think like that now would we? Though I do agree this feeds folks to use alts and other things. I have no problem not having SOL's if we weren't part of the RvR system and was treated half like a bastard nation. Though if your going to take them now we should get something in return to make up. I said one soloution is to add more ships to our Pirates Den that are more to the nature of pirates such as some more 5th and 6th rates. We have some in game they can do so with until some other features are added or changed. -

Sir Texas Sir replied to King of Crowns's topic in Tribunal - Трибунал
NO they can't be put in fleets from the port. Though I found out the other day you can put it in your fleet in battle. I forgot to switch to a trader when I ran to Blondal Cay to get Teak and just tagged a Trader. Had my Trader stop and than switched ships. Got out of the battle and than did my trading. Than head back home. So yah you can't put it in fleet from in port. -
@admin We have a patch note for the hotfix for today?

pirates using outlaw battles to keep traders safe
Sir Texas Sir replied to King of Crowns's topic in Tribunal - Трибунал
If you look about every famous pirates they all started as Privateer for one nation or another. Some for more than one. It's when there is no war that they tend to turn to Pirate. Than a war starts up they get a pardon and than become Privateers once more. -

Sir Texas Sir replied to King of Crowns's topic in Tribunal - Трибунал
Or make us Privateers with the ones not working with a current nation be the True Pirates (OUTLAWS). Privateers (clans) can get contracts to work with a nation and join there battles and such. Once they are off contract they can either be OUTLAWS until they get another or work for another nation or the same one if they prefer to stay there. That way one week we could be working with the Spainish, the next we could be fighting them on the British side. Or we can just say screw them both and kill them all....... -
I really wish those Nationals using a Smuggler flag would be counted as pirate too and could be attacked by any one even there own nations. It was like that at one time in the past. Would be nice to see it again.

Than sink them in the outlaw.....it will send them back to La Tort and they will never get any further. -
My only issue right now is I still don't think it's fair the other 7 Nations (Pirates is a Nation too as long as we are part of RvR) get 8 ships in there shop and pirates get one 5th rate. I'm fine if it was a few ships not just one ship. They should of gave usp the Rattler (H Rattler would been better), Niagara and maybe Ingermanland in our shop. Other nations can still capture them or trader for the BP's or permits, but give us something so we are lke the masters of the 5th rates and below and the other nations are the master of the 4th and above. That and of course the issue you should still get combat xp even if you capture a ship. XP should be based off damage so you get it no matter if you get a kill or assist. That way even the loosers of a fight gets xp for what he done.

Admiralty refits - bonuses information
Sir Texas Sir replied to admin's topic in News Announcements & Important discussions
It cost 200 PvE for the BP for that refti. Once you get the refit you can make as many as you want over and over as long as you got the mats for it. Remember some Mats will be in far away places that yo might no be able to reach easily. Yes it's a perm mod and if you put it on a ship and it gets sunk it's lost or if it gets capture that player gets the mod on his new captured ships (we just captured one from the french with a mod on it). As much as I hate the grind, and I'm more bitching about the ship knowledge grind, I don't think you should be jumping into SOl when it hasn't even been a week either. It should take time to get up in ships. Most players should be mainly in 5th rates for some time. Though if you are grinding fleets or even open world ships you are not going to take for every. If your grinding only traders than yah it's prob going to take you a while. I made 40 PvE last night just doning a circle around one area hitting any ships I saw that wasn't to big for my surprise in the brit waters. That was just a few hours of play too. The bigger the fleet the more marks you get. So for 200 or 300 marks I should be able to get them in 5-10 days bepending on how many hours a day I play. That isn't until the end of time or release of game. -
I think this is reasonable that he ask, but as @admin stated his other accounts will be reviewed. I think it's only far to take the blame for his faults, DeRank the one account and review the others for any recent exploiting and if there is any found than follow the rules per what is found, but not just a full out witch hunt to have all chars reset. I think that would be more reasonable for him to take the full punishment and than have review of his alts.

Pirates and ships.
Sir Texas Sir replied to Sermion's topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
We can still build them, but we have to get the permits and BP's. So you will either have to trade for them with a national of one of the other 7 nations (cause pirates are a nation too) or use an alt to get them. Now what I don't think is fair is pirates get one 5th rate the Pirate Frigate, but the other 7 nations get 8 ships in there's. They get the Aggy and all the SOL's. I have been stating they should give the pirates the H. Rattler to keep the special with the 5th rates and below and the other nations can be specials with the 4th rates and above. Still only two ships, but at least that is better than just one. If they think that is unfair than just give us the Rattler and the Niagara. -
Admiralty refits - bonuses information
Sir Texas Sir replied to admin's topic in News Announcements & Important discussions
It's either a drop or you can get it from some regions (British) in stores. I'm not sure if that is one of them that drops in stores. -

So if you have the other ones that aren't on that list than you can stack more than one? Just trying to make this clear. -
Admiralty refits - bonuses information
Sir Texas Sir replied to admin's topic in News Announcements & Important discussions
I liked what they did, in the past you could actually stack both Stubbing and Staysails and get bonus from one and a little from the other (conceal out the penalty). Now you pretty much have to pick on or the other. -

If that player was jumped by those two ships without refits he's prob not going to get away any way. And I bet you haven't lost a single ship in the new system either? Cargo ships are pretty much screwed period if they are hit now in OW unless some one got a really bad tag. Bring an escort. Though I think your just making up problems that aren't there yet. Why don't we wait and see how things roll out. As spoken below by @Hodo you get hit by very big penalties on almost all mods on the other side of the bonus for just about every refit. And bring some friends if you need to go into those hot spots. We have been raided at mort by French players since day one of the patch. I'm going to bet none of the other nations have had this issues. We get that they are catching us in La Tort to Mort run, so we made it a standing order in our clan that you don't make that run without others escorting you, but they gotten ballzy. They been hitting traders around Ocean Brite and Islet too. We really give them much props for doing this, but I bet you no other nation is feeling this. So with that @Yar Matey we see first hand what a group of Surprises can do and if some one paired up two with the two sides perk we would be catching at least one of those guys ever time causee they will have one ship in the bad wind every time they pick a direction of wind and we would be catching them. Like Hobo said it gives some pretty heavy penalities. Since I take it your still in a nation that isn't getting harassed a bit (US still?) than you haven't had hardly any PvP yet have you? I lost 2 Trader Brigs, a Surpise and countless Basic Cutters so far since patch and it's haven't even been a week. -
Any word on what that might be, hopefully something that rewards both for showing and than rewards the winer with the extra's This only one side gets every thing is not going to cute it, it's why folks are exploiting things. I wouldn't say it's being worked on or it's special. All the Dev said some ships (didn't say which ones) would be dropped through quest missions (we don't have), Premium shops (we don't have and shouldn't come until release) and special rewards (figure this the SC and mybe wappen). Really if they don't have these in game they should keep the ships in game until than. I proposed for the H. Rattler to give the Pirates something other than the P. Frigate in there shop, but I know the Nats will cry and won't want that, so lets be more simple and put the Niagarra and Rattler in there, hell even give the pirates the outdated Ingermanland (some folks still love this) as a port battle 4th rate other than the Connie. Right now Nationals have 8 ships in there shop, which are all the SOL's and than the Aggy. Pirates have one 5th rate, we need a few more 5th or even 6th rates to balance that out since they should be the masters of the shallow waters and such. They mention there are still drops, but not sure if this included the refits with the other mods and stuff. Some items needed for the BP's (the elite ones) are still from drops. I really did't see a problem with labor hours for cannons. My issue was the dang iron and Oak coast to produce. It was costing me more than I made daily to pull one or the other out. I have yet to empty my Oak farm cause it just coast way to much to do so. There needs to be a balance in that area. Though one thing I didn't like was having to make cannons 16 at a time. When I craft them I tend to do what is needed for a ship and than if I was putting them up for sale it was 32 (would prob do more like 24 at a time) cause that was a good large number to stock up for big buys and folks that just need 2 or a few at a time. There are still a few other items that need slider bar fix cause you have to do only a few at a time. They need to all be pretty much like how the barrels are now. So we can do small batches or very very very big batchs at a time.

Any chance on the ship knowledge tree that is more formal than what we have came up on our own? Maybe even chance of that being reworked so it's not so much of a grind. There is no reason I have to grind through every ship below the ones I want to master and sail all the time. Just way to much grinding in ships you don't want to spend time in. Even World of Tank let you skip past tanks you didn't want once you unlocked one or two things, not the whole dang tank.

Yah before I spend like 300+ PvE I would like to know what I'm getting, but like the Ship Knowledge tree we where promised I bet the players will just have to come up with the info our selves.
