Boarding Firepower
Sir Texas Sir replied to Bristol Fashion's question in Feature proposals and Gameplay Help Q&A
The ammo has nothing to do with your boarding. Though I'm going to assume but some one might have better info the firepower is effective by the number of guns you have on the ship. Seems if one ship has more guns than the other it's more effective. I never have noticed any difference using the Boarding cannon mod either. I do know the gundeck is effective even if you loose crew as your number of guns seems to never change so when you start to loose crew you can us it in place of muskets and such. I'll let one of the number guys pop in to better answer, I just know for sure your ammo has no effect in boarding. -

Bye Felicia And no your not reporting a problem, your whiney about a feature that is working as it's intented to....>>>FLEET MISSIONS<<< are meant to be done with a FLEET. Hint the name of it. Every post you made pretty much in this thread has been nothing but you complaining and insulting others and the game. I mean look at your very first post. second post Third post You came in to troll the post and than bitch about things you don't like and nothing more. If some one corrects you or gives you actual facts as I did as to the meaning of a fleet mission you turn it personnel and get all pissy. MODS you may delete this since it's off topic, but please take a look at H20's actions in this post as they clearly break rule number 2. -
Patch 16: Control, Mast and Ship strengths rebalance.
Sir Texas Sir replied to admin's topic in Patch notes
Uh dude why you telling me to calm down, your the one having a hissy cause you can't solo a fleet mission. Once again a mission meant to do with a fleet not solo or it would be called...>SOLO MISSIONS< You really need to calm your tits man, just about ever post you make your complaining about things. I got something for that though... Seems like your the only one that doesn't understand what the word FLEET means so get your panties out of a wade. No one said you can't solo them, we just said they are going to be hard to solo. I have solo a 10 1st rate mission before it took the whole hour and half to kill all them but I did...actually I ran out of time before I could kill the last one. So nothing is impossible. I don't honestly see a problem with this for a third rate fleet mission cause if you brought a couple of ships you will easily work over these ships and what they add (it always has +1 or 2 more ships). As for killing the Pavel I done it many times with a Bellona or even Aggy. You need to split the ships and attack them one at a time. Just takes time. Though that does bring up something while I was in there trying to get sunk by the ships so I can get on with my game. Basic cutters should not be able to area control players. To many folks abused them in the past jumping into missions and keeping folks tagged in until a bigger ship can join. They should be excluded from any PvP period. They should not be able to join any mission started by other players. -

I really love how folks don't understand what the word fleet means. Your not suppose to solo fleets. I mean you can if your good and know what your doing, but not the average joe solo ship. As for spawn ships I did solo missions and got either same level ship or two ships below me just now. I Also engaged a OW fleet of Connie, Merc and 2 Navy Brigs with my Indefatable and killed all three with only amor lost from my broad side to broad side with the connie. The other little nats where annoying though. Do admit they tend to turn and stop to fast for realistic play at times. Even more annoying how they keep firing when they are half full of water and than suddenlys top so you blow past them when trying to loot. fleet1 flēt/ noun a group of ships sailing together, engaged in the same activity, or under the same ownership. "the small port supports a fishing fleet" a country's navy. noun: the fleet "the US fleet" synonyms: navy, naval force, (naval) task force, armada, flotilla, squadron, convoy "the fleet set sail" a number of vehicles or aircraft operating together or under the same ownership. "a fleet of ambulances took the injured to hospital" -

Yah that is why I'm actually saying keep the 42's on the Vict and Pavel (can't find data on her but I'm half tired). Give the L'Ocean, Bucc and Santi the 36's. Hell I actually would love to see one US SOL even if it's a 2-3rd rate cause they put 32's on all there decks. Would be intersting to see a ship that double deck 32's. But it really doesn't matter with the pen changes every thing pens first rates like crazy so if you out number one it can't even tank damage and is sunk fast. I'm just waiting for some one to bring out an all 12 lb L'oceans or something to DPS the crap out of every one lol -
Patch 16: Control, Mast and Ship strengths rebalance.
Sir Texas Sir replied to admin's topic in Patch notes
But we have 36 lb french guns so why aren't they on the Bucc's as an option too? The Santi though is listed as having 36 lb (38.8 British lbs) not 42 and I assume this isn't french lbs as it's a Spanish ship. Like I said it should be used to balance them out some so that not every ship has the same guns or lay out. If you want the fast lighter guns you go for one ship, if you want the heavy hitting cannons you can go for the other. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spanish_ship_Nuestra_Señora_de_la_Santísima_Trinidad The only reason I assume the Santi also had the 42's at that time was cause they where the only two 1st rates in game. The british navy used the 32's though on there SOL's. Inresting find when I was looking up the cannons and ships. http://www.victory1744.org/thecannon.html Maybe the 42's where not on the ship after all that we have in game as this was the Victory before the current one we have in game. Though with the NYE cannons in game it would be interesting to see some other variations of cannons put into game as special rewards or buys. -
Name calling folks names doesn't make your point any better. You do know I solo EU server with no clan for 2 years? Oh that cause you don't know anything about me. So nice try buddy. I still have that same Pirate char too and I make plenty or marks and gets common ships with no help of a clan or other CLUMPERS as you like to call them. It wasn't until the merge that I had a clan on the server (as I mainly played on GLOBAL). Unlike you I have actually played the game as both the solo and the clan/RvR so I have seen both sides. Instead of calling folks names I pointed out you can make the same stuff as any one else. No your prob not going to make 50 PvP marks in one night, but you could and the VM is paid out weekly and not every one gets that, only the folks in the top three nations, guess what Russia isn't one of the top three so I don't get free VM's weekly. I also build all mys hips myself without my clans help. I actually build ships for clan mates on he side too. So try again buddy about saying what I do or not know. I'll repeat again you have alternate routes and I very clearly stated what they are. It just might take you longer to collect your marks to make a 1st rate. VM's and PvP marks are not locked behind RvR only. You can gain them by earning them through OW PvP. Oh and the comment about set up battles and farm marks just shows your bias view of clan folks. Seems you think we all cheat or do things like that. Not every one does and most of the time the guys getting busted for alt/mark farmers aren't even the RvR players, most of them have been random casual or no names that are to lazy to get them the hard way of actually playing the game.

Patch 16: Control, Mast and Ship strengths rebalance.
Sir Texas Sir replied to admin's topic in Patch notes
I know one way they can balance the Victory with the other 1st rates and a few other ships. It was the only ship in game that historically actaully carried 42 lb guns even for a short time. Remove l'ocean 42's and make them use only the 36. Same with the Santi and any other ship using the 42's that didn't use them and use something more closer to the 36's instead of the 42's. That way it might not have the biggest broad side, but it carried the biggest guns per say. I think if I remember right for the 2nd rate this would effect one of the ships and not the other. I would have to look up the Paval and Bucc's stats though, but i think one should actually be carrying the 36 not the 42's. @admin Any thought about doing this cause the whole point of bring in the 36's in game cause they where actually used on most of the big ships in place of the 42's. Right now there stats are so close that there is no reason to use the 36's over the 42's when you have the option. Maybe it's time to remove that option on ships that should have the 36's over the 42's? Though it was only wiki just checked and the Santi and Bucc are listed as having 36's not 42's....yep should be a good balance change in game and make the guns used more by actual ships that had them. Actualy Victory had more HP than a Santi for as long as I could remember and I pretty much only Sail a Victory or L'Ocean since wipe (Santi only back before the L'ocean). -
Patch 16: Control, Mast and Ship strengths rebalance.
Sir Texas Sir replied to admin's topic in Patch notes
They could make it 500m for every one but if you take the perk (with reduce cost) it extends it out to 750m (think perk limit). I would love to see more refits. One way they can do it is you have to buy the refit permit take the normal ship version and turn it in and get the refit made out of that ship. Could be a way to refit captured ships that way too into something better. The wood types stay the same but you get the new refitted ship in place of the normal version. Any one can update it, but right now there been so many changes that it hasn't been updated fast enough to match the changes. Other than a few key players (I use the Reno still a lot) these ships needed something to help rebalance them and bring them back into the game. Maybe this is just one step to test something like giving every one area control or a place holder until they can go back and do some more balance changes to these ships. Santi is 11K HP so that puts it between the Victory and L'Ocean. -
Are you really this blind, you just totally mention how you can get that first rate without RvR. You OW PVP right? You gain PvP Marks Right? You prob get way more PvP marks solo hunting or small group than RvR guys cause they have to split their marks between 1-25 guys depending who all shared damage with a kill/assist. That one VM a week is equal to 50 PvP marks. Which if your active you can easily gain in one night or over the week easily. BOOM you just earned the exact same as a winning nation RvR team and can craft your first rate. It only takes one VM to make a first rate. If you can earn 50 PvP marks you can get a first rate.....so stop this BS that the content is hidden behind the Elites or RvR only folks. If you do any OW PvP than you can earn and make your own 1st rates too. And I know you can do this cause I mainly Solo hunt these days cause of my hours as I haven't been able to catch many port battles and the few I have I gotten only a few PvP marks cause you have to share the rewards. Oh and I play Russia, we aren't the top three nations so I'm not even getting Victory Marks for free. Though when I do go out to screen, PvP or what ever I earn PvP marks which I could trade in for VM (I have about a dozen and tons of permits from past rewards so need to right now). So yah prove to me now that a solo player can't get VM's and 1st rates? Sounds more like you just want every thing open to you and not have to do the special content that is needed to get certain things? I take it you don't play other MMO's do you? A lot of content is locked behind elite dungeons and missions and PvP/RvR that the normal casual can't get, some of it they can buy for a lot of money, but a lot of that content is also locked to the player/account that did it so the only way to get those nifty elite items is to actually do the content your self or as I said before....PAY OUT THE ARSE FOR IT IN GAME. PS: I played Pirates up till the merge for many of the reasons you mention, but they aren't true pirates if your wanting 1st rates and such. Do like my one Pirate account I still have left and run in only 5th rates and below, mostly shallow ships than you are free of anything and more of a true pirate...other wise your just another nation with a black flag.
-
And I totally disagree, most of the content is hidden behind PvE grind, so why not have PvP only content too? You can still get any of these items in game without doing the actual content if your willing to pay some one else that did them. So nothing is truelly hidden behind a wall that no one can get. Hell many games lock content to your char or account, so be glad we don't have that feature in game and can trade. We do have alternate path, it's called paying some one else. You just might pay a lot more but you can get just about anything in game this way.

Limit Poods to Russian Ships
Sir Texas Sir replied to HachiRoku's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
@William Death Willis is this what it was like back when you had that potato of a graphic card? -
Do you open world PvP? than you get more than one victory mark a week or month just off that. I don't know why folks are so set about 1 mark a week that one nation gets over others. You get off your arse and PvP in OW you will get more marks than that easly. So no you are not locked out of playing a 1st rate cause you don't get into Port battles. You still have options to get them and if your active enough than you prob get more marks than the RvR guys that only do port battles cause they have to share there PvP marks with the rest of the fleet. There is also option three for the trade/crafters that make tons of gold, just buy them. So there is always way to get things in game. End game content shouldn't be just given to players that just log in and do nothing. You want the content than do something to earn them. Proper screeners that don't just YOLO prob get more PvP marks than the actual Port battle fleets most the time. Than again that is why I mention the if your going to give them to the guys that do nothing in winning nations, than you might as well give 1 to every one so every one gets one no matter what. Just means it takes you longer if you need say 10 for a 1st rate when say the guy that does port battles in a nation that owns enough ports to get 5 marks every week can craft his 1st rate a lot faster. Saying that the permit cost 10 marks. He can do it in two weeks when joe blow casual can do it in 10. Just take a bit longer.

I can get the mission experience but why do we not get the OW sailing XP? Mainly I ask as it's so hard to open slots on the Trade ships now so they should be getting OW sailing xp since that is what you do mainly with a trade ships and it is an example of how a ship gets better. The more time men and a ship are at sea the better they get to know each other. So OW xp what little it is should go towards knowledge slots for that ship too. As for Mission XP is there any way we can get maybe a free XP slot for our maxed out chars to use this xp for other things. Really it's useless for me and my maxed out chars as I only get the xp for the actions in battle for my ships. Once your maxed out there is nothing for this extra xp. We had xp from crafting ships so why not bring that back as something like free xp you can redeem and put towards a ship knowledge or something? That and I think we should bring back crafting xp for ships used by others. Since you get so little xp other than crafting xp for your crafting Rank would be nice for the dedicated crafters can have more ways to level up than grinding missions.
-
I believe @admin mention that in his post that they cost would go up since the marks rewards are going to go up per number of ports owned by clan/nation. I never was a big fan of paying every one out the same rewards as the folks doing all the hard work. If your going to pay out than every one on the whole server should get one VM per turn and the top guys than get there bonus rewards on top of that per placement and number or ports. POTBS did this, last place still got one Conquest mark. While I think first place got 3, 2nd 2 and 3rd 1 extra on top of the 1 every one got.

Why Fleet Perk?

Spanish clans message to WO & BLANC clans
Sir Texas Sir replied to Celtiberofrog's topic in Caribbean News
When we where running those numbers the server was more active and it had around 250-300 during prime time. So no it's not difffrent. When it dropped below 200 we dropped down to about 10 players on average with folks only returning for port battles. This was another thing the big guys couldn't get in there head. When we stopped fighting and taking ports it was mainly cause our guys got bored and went and played other games. Hell last night was kinda the first time I been on since November other than just popping in and out. I been playing other games but keeping in touch from our guys nightly and poping in each patch to check changes. This whole getting a job and working 3rd shift kinda blows on my RvR play. Ya'll prob won't see me in to many port battles other than on weekends or EU mornings. Good thing is I'm no longer asked to command every battle...lol When asked what I think I just tell them my battle plan, "YOLO and see what happens." I just don't have the heart to command in me at the moment lol -
HOw many ships was it and what type? Yah I sat in TS with our clan doing them back on global and we lost half our ships and got out with three chest. It wasn't something we would take lightley and we use to take those 25 ship mega fleets to flip ports with something like 5-10 guys only with no problems. Loved those fleets as they where instantly like 60% hostility. It was how we flipped so many ports so fast back than we put a little agro on the port. Catch a mega fleet and it would push it over or we would have it high enough a PvP kill or something is just needed to flip it. I'm kinda wondering what the rewards are going to be for the 4th rate ones.

Spanish clans message to WO & BLANC clans
Sir Texas Sir replied to Celtiberofrog's topic in Caribbean News
Nations trade ports all the time, so might want to stop looking like an idiot with your comments of thinking just cause ports exchange hands doesn't mean folks are at war. We have reasons to have ports in certain areas. Spainish has reason to own more ports than us. It's all part of the politics of the game. Something you prob have no clue about. So your saying your exactly like BLACK on global than, which would mean your a zerg since you keep saying we where pirate zerg and we where only about 15-20 active players doing RvR. So in effect he's right your the new zerg. I honestly think folks use the word zerg way to much wrongly. Now if one of the largest nation or alliance (US/GB/Duth super carebare allaince) joins together and rolls the whole map, that is a freaking zerg. Some one taking a few ports here or there is not a zerg. Though for US/GB/Dutch they never could do it properly on GLOBAL cause they had terrible leadership and organization skills. A small clan of 20-25 active players that do the same is not a zerg, it's a called organization. Normally when we did it we took key ports and the other nations would than just give up so we would just keep taking empty ports to win a map cause they stopped fighting so why not? Which is what WO/BLANC is pretty much doing in the US Time zone of play. One thing that is there weakness and I'm sure they know this is they where to get hit by say any combine organization of US Time zone nations at once they would crumble. Now lets see if we can get them organization kills and team work together guys. I just told you how to beat them....lol -
Spanish clans message to WO & BLANC clans
Sir Texas Sir replied to Celtiberofrog's topic in Caribbean News
People want PvP and your the big dog in that time zone. Think of it this way, you are now the BLACK of server during this time zone. You have the biggest strongest RvR Fleet in US time zone and numbers to back them (something BLACK didn't have as we rarely had screeners). The more agrressive you are the more you will see folks doing this. Not to mention last I checked you been attacking US ports to so why wouldn't two nations your attacking work together. The enemy of my enemy is my friend per say. Yah we where originally looking at joining French when the merger was announced because we had played with some of the EU french clans and players over the past. Some of them even came over to Global and fought during our early (SEA) times for a while and some of us came over and helped them too. When we found out a lot of US/GB/French players where going French we picked another nation to try to balance it out some more. Aww you have that dutch math don't you....thinking us former GLOBAL pirates have great numbers. How many times I have to repeat myself it was the same 15-20 guys that fought you on GLOBAL with even less now on this server.....we don't have tons of players like ya'll got from former US and GB players. Just look at your port battles. You have a large screening fleet out side most of them. We don't. If you drop the screeners we would not mind fighting you straight up, but it's hard to do attacks when you can't bring a screening fleet to match the other nations numbers. That is why we are on the defense for the most part. Same with the US though I think they have the numbers just not the active players involved in PvP/RvR. -
RNG crafting colors.
Sir Texas Sir replied to HachiRoku's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
I think it's suppose to be GOLD not yellow and gold is worth more lol Though I have to say in the old days I actually liked the Purple mods better than most the gold ones. Purple Marines where a better balance than having a gold marine ship that wasn't very combat effective cause you had half marines. Though I have gotten two purple ships: 4/3 Trader Brig with Very Sturdy...I was just testing on a junk build to see if trade ships get the extra perk 4/5 Pirate Frigate Teak/Teak with Very Fast....going to keep this one for a special build I also got a 4/5 mercury but it's blue cause it didn't get an extra perk. So seems the color is more to do with the total number of perks/slots. Now has any one gotten the 5/5 ships as I havne't seen a screen of them yet. I do have to admit that purple stands out in the ship shop as I put the Trader up for sale cause I figure some other guy can use a Trader brig for cheap.
