  1. Ah, so you never played those...
  2. Not entirely sure this is useful, but made it anyway:
  3. Yea, I can't tell Radich apart from Sørlandet from that distance. I know the Swedes have one along those lines too. Actually, about ten of the ships we saw was that kind of ships, barque?
  4. Thanks for the title! :P

    1. Fluffy Fishy

      Fluffy Fishy

Congratulations, now let us know how do you get a title? :D

  5. lel, you make it sound dirty. This is what I would do.
  6. Shots fired!
  7. Yea, thought about that intially, but it's kind of tricky because any amount of distance adds parallax effect. I might try, but not anytime soon.
  8. Interesting. Usually you don't have to translate from Swedish to Norwegian, so we prolly call it Galeas too. The hull did remind me of the merc brig, but the rig is clearly very different. You can go to Sandefjord, Norway to see a viking longboat constructed exactly like they did back then. It's quite interesting.
  9. Saw this in Farsund, Norway. What kind of ship is this?
  10. I tried out some speeds at sea just to get a better feel, or as reference to the speeds of the ships in NA. Driving a car doesn't quite do it for me. For whatever it is worth: 10 knots: 16 knots, in the name of trincs and renoms: It really is fast, isn't it? 22 knots for the pre nerfed renoms with speedmods: 41 knots, just because I could
  11. We were finally able to do the trip. There's been weather holding us back and the outboard even broke off the mounting bracket and sank in harbour, I had to scuba down with a line to get it up. We did need a new (used) outboard so there were quite a few issues that made us postpone. Anyway, all was set and the weather was nice with good wind, albeit from the wrong direction. We set out and had only sailed for two hours when something fantastic happened. Had to squint to make sure, but yea, it's wasn't just a spinnaker coming at us. It was so cool to be out sailing in an open world! We sailed up for a better look. Maybe some of you know what we saw? But there was more... And the day went on like that. We saw a total of 15 tall ships. At one point there were 5 rigs ornamenting the horizon, we were well ganked, but I play NA so I'm used to that There had been a tall ships race further north in Molde, so we saw them sailing home or to the next race. The next day started out with outboard problems as we raised the sails and ended with the motor quitting on us when we were getting ready to make our way towards a dock. We were out in weak winds without any means of propulsion and no experience or equipment for night sailing, so we had to bite the bullet and do the sensible thing:
  12. Pfft. yea! I consider 40 bucks a foot in the door
  13. Anything that makes players PVP is a good thing. I like the sound of PVP honorkills to get access to certain content. Limiting in a good way.
  14. Maybe one tap for half deflection and doubletap or hold for full deflection?
  15. Dear Game-Labs. I promise to pay 10 dollars for each of these "I quit!" and "I want a refund!" extortionists as long as there is good PVP in the game. Arena, OW, eco, loss whatever! All that is secondary to glorious PVP.
  16. BTW, Leviathan. You aren't Levi from Aces High, are you?
  17. Sure, but make PVP missions too that gives more rewards. Whatever PVE grinds you put out there, let players know that PVP is better.
  18. Ursäkta att vi är töntar. Dorans diplomati: "Nu kjör vi, jävlar!"
  19. We did not break up. We're testing the pirate life now.
  20. Don't worry, there will be opportunity to cry and moan over Doran's existence still. He's away in some remote pirate port drinking the last batch of forum tears.
  21. Why so serious? It was a tongue-in-cheek way of letting him know to condense his thoughts instead of brute forcing with text saturation. [edit] Since we're in this thread and to avoid confusion: I do not wish for NA to become an arena MMO.
  22. To me it seems the developers are trying to do just that. I don't hate the idea of OW, but there are a few issues where openness seems to be in conflict with quality and fun PVP. I don't have the answers but I take the liberty of poking at everyone who writes as if they have all the answers. If (good/quality/fun) PVP was so easy to find why do others and myself complain? You can't just jedi-mindtrick us into seeing the world through your eyes. [edit] Remember I'm just a disruptive PVP monkey, you can't expect me to have the attention span to read that wall of text.
  23. Maybe it's possible to make fun PVP happen in OW? It seems that is what the devs are aiming for. I don't think they want all the fun-loving players to bugger off to the skirmish room. I believe you OW/eco guys need to kill some of your babies to make room for the PVP player.
  24. There are very few "OP" players as of now. People practice their bot-fighting skills and running more than actual fighting. Remember the Sea Trials PVP? Everyone turning downwind and starting linefighting, santis on auto and such. I'm not worried about thousands of OP players.
  25. Ok, that's it! I'm gonne head off and start a poll with accompanying sperg to save the pig.
