  1. That 1 thread option won't do justice to all content makers. There's a lot of content per server not only Conquest.
  2. Keep your wounds tended and away from salty water please lest they fester. The individual boards per server are truly needed to keep focused News per server on its own boards.
  3. Basically creating a "unlawful" zone until order is re-established.
  4. Number of Ships and BR curve for the new RoE calculations as posted earlier. No only one nor only the other Although testbed cannot be fully used to test this we will certainly see a more credible way of engaging fleets, and for sure the commitment needed prior to a PB. In truth, with the 30 minutes timer prior to enter a PB, a conquest fleet can be stopped in the OW by a defending fleet which decides to sally forth instead of defending inside the port itself.
  5. I think pirates actions, to a point, should not interfere with National Powers, hence a "stability/revolt" threshold should not be needed. Raids, hopefully being open to all, can be used by national groups emulating buccaneers, such as french enclaves of spanish guarda-costas roving privateers. If anything the "raze" option after a raid would simply mean a destruction of holdings and estates held by players in that particular instance. If perpetrated by Nationals, then yes, increased effect versus that particular nation ( if and when alliances come back ) Pirates ? They are at war versus the world.
  6. That's what the warning says. Do not redeem anything before you are sure of the nation you want to play. Once used there's no way back.
  7. "Do not Redeem until you are sure of the nation you want to play". One thing everyone is missing. Right now all characters share the same Rank XP and Crafting XP. So if you log in in all servers and do a battle you will have redeemables in all servers after the wipe.
  8. This is actually not true. Not being enabled doesn't mean it is not done already I remember when Land Ahoy patch hit the wind was changed and the community had a half-half reaction to it. Many praised it, many abhorred it - simply put and just as an example the Renomee sail plan did not go well if you pushed the envelope beyond beam reach. Likewise other ships had it too, Trincomalee for example. Fighting for a while was odd, given everyone was used to... sail on rails... Do we want more credible sailing or not ? It is on us, not if the devs do it or not
  9. Could use less force close haul and really make the choice of position count. We still are many times over possibilities Just look at the Cecilia, she disregards it. The Brigs, as long as you let the spanker go around free will bounce the wind and return across the tack with impunity. It is indeed a great great game I would like it to be just a little more... tactical with the wind usage. Just a bit.
  10. There's a character named Lannes in the server already. You will have to use another name. Fairly common choice for a french name of a character I must say.
  11. 750m and I shall disagree. Control is mandatory for me and is far from useless. Signaling opens a venue of aid if you pile more numbers or more guns. Battle stays open for a while, not sure of the timer though. Squadrons have indeed to adjust their composition to cover a lot of scenarios - from one schooner ( for bracketing ), corvette like the Snake, fast frigates and heavy hitter acting command. I don't see that as bad, actually very credible historically. Also if all the squadron is in the area of battle all are drawn in, right ? What You See Is What You Get
  12. No it isn't. Exactly what you say. Just to point one of the issues: - If counter-tagged and you are in a definitely faster vessel, then Control should take care of it We can continue and try to construct the mechanics dependencies, might be more constructive.
  13. I think Control and Signaling should be game mechanics.
  14. All fun. Although that brit alt warning of rates exiting KPR and Carlisle on their own while the dread squadrons waited inside battle was a sorrow way to conduct a gallant war ... A lot to be said, but those days are gone and done. We have to sacrifice a bit of realism OP, especially to overcome GPS, real-time communications, etc.
  15. No idea. Add the ones you find in here http://forum.game-labs.net/index.php?/topic/15726-pirate-cuisine-and-beverages/
  16. Commerce Raiding: Privateer, Lynx, Pickle Ganking aka. Commerce Raiding: Privateer, Lynx, Pickle PBs - Constitution, Wappen, Surprise, Cherubim, Blackbeard's Snake... whatever I have at hand. I rather be screening if I'm not raiding.
  17. There's some old buccaneer/fishermen recipes that still survive today in various degrees of variation in sea borne countries/communities. The simplest one is unpeeled potatoes boiled in sea water.
  18. I am happy Mannis and support all. Don't misinterpret my distance from the focused issue, but I like to look to the whole board. We did have too many mechanics that were focused but did f... all in the grand scheme of things and in the long run didn't work. But do we even know what is coming post wipe regarding mechanics that rule trade, production, resources, and ultimately ship building ? As I said, I'd rather see a more realistic approach to the "building" costs of ships than a massive "everyone has it all". Just as an example Teak ships were massively cheaper and faster to do than Oak ones. Why can't we have that ? LO quality must have a price to pay, no ? Also... why not have abundance and shortages or resources ? Once you cut down a tree it will not be available anymore for ship building for a long time, hence why so few ships were made of live oak...just maybe Same with silver. Why mines do not dry out as they do in RL ? New veins could eventually be found. IMO there's more to resources than a simplistic boardgame approach. Naval Bases.
  19. For my crew and riches and plunder , under a commission issued by the First Consul himself.
  20. On the spot. Would think the summit would be about geopolitical situation in NA west indies for the global server and not about game development But some interesting points of view.
  21. That was the point of all the Live Oak region attacks mostly. To actually have it and try to deny it. I wonder how many ALTs got caught by pirates operating from Mary's that were full of LO
  22. Thank you. After all is or isn't about resources ?.. got lost there. But maybe, just maybe, it is cost that needs reviewing. Seasoning rangoon teak doesn't cost the same as seasoning oak... or live oak... we missing cost per resource when using it for ship building. Also... do we even know what changes are planned for crafting, economy, resources ? The suggestion is neither good nor bad.
