One problem can be this : when the wind pushes the flag it gets thought the back sail . What if the flag will not cut my sail ? It could be moving around my sail , depends on the wind .

But let's not make it easy , once you captured the enemy ship and if you want to take cannons you have to wait 5-10 min for processing . With little bit of animations?
