So started testing out the new features with 9.71 patch. In particular, Rear Admiral missions. The fight was both fun, engaging & somewhat challenging. The final payout of approx 381'000 Gold for a 1hr mission I think is pretty good indeed. A good PvE step in the right direction.

Yeah it suks mate, I have a captured 1 dura 3rd Rate you can have if it helps bud. Other then that, join one of the bigger Fleets on the US faction, TF / TDA to name a few... Great bunch of guys always willing to help someone out and up for a good fight. -

No you should be able to attack anything in any condition. Its a sandbox mmo... More to the point, you was in a privateer. A ship that excels up-wind compared to anything they had by the sounds of it. Did you manage to get away? -
I like the idea on paper, but until we see the devs end plan for the pirate nation, we really don't know what will work and what won't.

I understand what your saying... The Grind Is Real But this is something that will just get better & better over time with more PvE content. PvP, IMO always has to be looked at from the top down. That is to say fully lvl players in exceptional, multi-dura ships with exceptional outfittings. In short End Game Content... Being maxed lvl I don't mind in the least I don't get much XP for sail damage as Its no longer needed. I'm not looking for best return, im looking for juiciest target. With the littlest risk involved. That St Pavel I capped yesterday was sold to some random at La Tortue for 500k gold. The battle only took 30-45 min... That is a pretty good return to me.

Can't find a link that explains what green on green consists of, before you can get punished. For example, 2 v 6 - outnumbered fight so the 2 ships decide in group chat to agree to start shooting one another. Is it green on green just for shooting? Or do one / both of them have to actually sink to consist green on green? What if these 2 ships just kept raming one another? Should raming say a St Pavel to 'scuttle the ship' be considered a good tactic or ban hammer?

Voted no. Feel like sail damage in itself is a means to an end that results in a ship being disabled. Being disabled can lead to more then one outcome: You can capture the aforementioned ship straight away. Resulting in little XP & Gold, but the chance to get a pretty decent 1 dura boat. For instance.... Of course you also have the option of disable then sink. No ship but better XP & Gold overall... The point being, the choice is yours after you de-mast... So personally I like that you don't get much XP for the disable.

I can understand the grind, and it will get better with more PvE content. As for the battles taking over an hour. This is a good thing, a lot can happen in an hour especially in a large scale PvP fight.

I cant say I agree with anything you suggested my friend. Historical accuracy sometimes has to give way to enjoyable game play.

Yep, last night was pretty cool indeed. French Renom fleet really helped us out of a tight spot. Got limited footage of the joint operation =)
