Jonnydread Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 Naval Action runs really laggy (16-20fps) on my laptop, while appereantly not using my hardware really well. My Cpu-usage is at max 20% and GPU-usage at max. 50%. I checked this after i noticed that my laptops stays really cool while playing. I mean it is nice that my fans are super quiet and i can put the laptop on my lap without getting burns, but i would rather get 1-2- fps more. Even watching 1080p videos is putting more pressure on my CPU. Specs: Win7 64bit i5-2450m @2,5GHZ Ati Readon 7610m 2gb 8gb ram
OlavDeng2 Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 Could you use some short of hardware monetoring program and tell me what kind of temperatures you are seeing for your gpu and CPU?
Lyric Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 Recommend speed fan. Works for windows (even boot camped) / iMac
Jonnydread Posted February 6, 2016 Author Posted February 6, 2016 GPU 61° CPU 71° After around 15 min sailing in open world.
OlavDeng2 Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 Hmm, that is weird, so it is not over heating, do you have the pc on balanced or battery saver mode? if so try it with performance mode.
Jonnydread Posted February 6, 2016 Author Posted February 6, 2016 Hmm, that is weird, so it is not over heating, do you have the pc on balanced or battery saver mode? That was actually the first thing i thought, but no.
Ink Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 Captain, try to check the settings in AMD Radeon Settings. Open it, go to Gaming then find Naval Action, click on it and then there will be OverDrive profile or something like that, list bellow, and there will be Fun, Boost and Energy saving settings. If it doesn't help, please, try also to remove the NA application and add it again by adding Client.exe (SteamApps\common\Naval Action\Client.exe) and then repeat the steps above
Jonnydread Posted February 7, 2016 Author Posted February 7, 2016 Overdrive does not support my GPU, i think it is only for Deskop-GPUs.
Jonnydread Posted February 12, 2016 Author Posted February 12, 2016 The patch today made the performance even worse and brought me further down from 16-22fps to unplayable 10-12fps
Ink Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 There were not any graphics or any other engine related things in the patch. Perhaps your settings have reset?
Jonnydread Posted February 12, 2016 Author Posted February 12, 2016 I restarted the game 2 times and it is back to bearly playable 20fps. I guess it is time for a new PC.
Bowzer74 Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 How much RAM do you have?? That will impact you ability to play the game properly!!!
Henry d'Esterre Darby Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 Hmm, that is weird, so it is not over heating, do you have the pc on balanced or battery saver mode? if so try it with performance mode. My guess as well. Something isn't right.
