So could anyone with the nautical knowledge explain what differences might exist between the Leda class frigates Trincomalee (1817) and Unicorn (1824)? Aside from the obvious that the Unicorn was kept in ordinary and never rigged for sail. Being of the same class, and being very close in physical dimensions, would their performance differ much? Trincomalee was built in India of Bombay teak, where as Unicorn was built in England out of Oak, so despite their same design they have different materials (much like we can do in Naval Action,) so how would this affect them?  According to Wikipedia Unicorn differs from Trincomalee by using "a modified design that incorporated Sir Robert Seppings's circular stern and 'small-timber' form of construction," how radically would this change the performance, if at all?

As these are the only two surviving members of their class it's interesting to be able to compare them, and see how those comparisons could inform and improve the Game of Naval action.

wow i hope i'm not the only one who thinks what they've done to the unicorn is a travesty.

Maturin's certainly come along in his naval knowledge, bet he can go aloft without help and everything these days.

Well, IIRC she never had a proper set of masts or anything. She was launched and immediately turned into a 'houseboat' like that.
