Holy hell this is a gorgeous ship...

Game-Labs artists going from strength to strength  :)

Yeah, incredible work on the stern.

Only 24 guns per battery, though. That's pretty weak.

Well, this is a ship built in 1715...

Back then, a large and well armed 3rd rate, but ship size and weight armament moved on. By the Napoleonic era Ingermanland might be more of a large 4th rate than a 3rd rate SoL, but still quite a powerful ship, more than a match for anything short of a super-frigate and would be a tough opponent even for the Constitution.

Yet oddly enough they already had 100-gun ships back then.

Anyways, it appears that she was re-armed with 30-pound guns in 1716. So perhaps her lower deck armament should be 32-pdrs in-game.

I'd rather see that than overcompensate by making this ship some sort of speed demon.

I remember from another thread that the ships soon to come in were almost finished.

Is there any chance of a sneak peak at them now?

if this thing hits 4x as much as one of those towers, these forts are gonna be hella scary even for a Santi maybe

Now if you can add a contiguous landmass, like a bay, throw in a few towers at the front of the bay's peninsula, maybe add a city backdrop in the background (like in that Tortuga concept art screen), then we'll have ourselves a nice realistic looking port battles.  Maybe for deep water port you add in a few snows and for shallow water a few lynxes.

Oh yeah, and add a light house that lights up at night, that would be the icing on the cake.  I want me some night time storm port battles!

I'd be pretty thrilled with coastlines / elevations generated procedurally from main map, and generic forts in real, or at least realistic, locations.

The Fort on the picture has room for 28 Cannon's by the looks of it. (6+6+8+8)

Because we spoke about like 3-4 different kinds of forts. The biggest will house 64 guns (by information which Admin said).

It will be really cool to see the whole game "finished" (something never gets finished in a game you just want to add more to it but sometime you got to say "well we cant do much more with the resources we got").

I would love to see that as the backdrop for when you are in ports.

Great idea, even if it's just temporary. The blue screen is a bit.... blue... :)

Would be great but if it acts like the current towers no thanks, as they are stupid OP and fire like snipers

Uh, what? What would be "great"?
