El Capitano Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 A clan spends a considerable amount of gold to buy a conquest flag in order to take a port, but even if that clan has enough people to fill all 25 slots there is no way to prevent random pubbies from joining the battle in their pickles and basic cutters when there are 6 snows stuck outside of the battle this severely lowers the effectiveness of the already outgunned attackers (because of the towers and undersized ships) I propose that the Clan (or individual) that initiates the Port strike has the option to set the battle to public access or restricted access based on invitations.
Capt. Rice Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 Well this game is open world and they want all what the games has to offer to everyone. if they made it only accessible if you are in a clan then over 95% of port battles would be clan battle and those who are not in a clan miss out any chance of trying it out. It would be nice if you could choose though. That is why you should prepare before just buying the capture flag. get the clan in position so you can have who you want.

From the other perspective, ramdoms are jumping in with cutters fleets, taking up 3 slots wich would be very usefull for the clan that actually paid for the conquest flag. A ramdom can also start a conquest if he likes and invite nation chat to join after al, it should be a bit more balanced. 1

The primary example, which is what cause me to post this thread lasts night's battle against Morgans bluff, we were less than 5 minutes away in Frozen cay with a 35 man fleet of Mercs and Snows, by the time we made it to Morgans Bluff (5 minutes after buying flag) there were already 6 randoms outside the port waiting. would have been impossible to get to the port any sooner. Edit* I actually sent 2 squas of six ahead of the flag by about a minute and there were guys outside before they got there. As mentioned above, there is nothing stopping a non clanned player from buying a flag themselves. Edited February 4, 2016 by El Capitano
