Don Alfonso Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 I've seen plenty of people say that the game isn't newb-friendly and having joined the game only recently, I can say that's quite true. However, thanks to the nice people on the forums that make guides, it is much easier to get going. However, there is a problem when it comes to different factions. If I were playing British, it wouldn't be an issue because of this; http://forum.game-labs.net/index.php?/topic/6315-newbie-tutorial-%E2%80%93-british-faction-edition/ Unfortunately, I am playing Spanish. I would play both, but I was surprised to find out I could only play one character. Proposal It would be incredibly helpful if someone could make a guide for the Spanish faction in the sorts that Flavalicious did. If I were a veteran player, I would write one myself, but alas - I am a newb in need of a guide. For now, I shall continue to grind missions! Good sailing.
ZackTennyson Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 Yeah there are a lot of features and things to come in to the game yet, and a starters guide for everything is certainly needed.Having said that part of the fun is to find stuff out for yourself rather than having it all handed to you on a plate.
'Sharpe Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 Don Alfonso, The issue is that, as an alpha game, many things are changing constantly. Flavicious' British starter guide from July is now completely irrelevant. We also have port capture now, which is player influenced and changes the types of NPCs (and players) that populate an area, making it impossible to design such a guide these days with any posterity. There are certain tips for new players of every nation. But something specific for Spanish, or any nation (whereby a nation's ports may change, features added to or removed from the game, etc) does not make sense as a static document.
