Azzak Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 Hello there, In my opinion NPC fleets are going a bit too far away form their own ports. It breaks immersion, and it makes it too easy to gank them. I'll give some examples : - You see, at Fort Royal we see a lot of time british fleets, with 3rd rates, constitutions, and more and more. What the hell are they doing here, having tea with french sailors ? So what people do ? Attack a 3rd rate with 20 ships and gank it out of existence without any risks. - On PVP 3 Swedish captured the english ports north of Fort Royal. But there are still british fleets around, even though they should have no reason to be here anymore. Suggestions : - Make NPC fleets patrol around their own ports, and not going too deep inside enemy territory. They should still go to neutral and free towns though. - Make NPC fleets dependant of the owner of the ports. Should a NPC fleet spawn nearby, it belongs to that faction. Open to discussion !
SteelSandwich Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 Did you take into account that it would result in having no gtindable ships in your oen teritory? It would force everyone, including new players, into hostile teritory.
Hethwill, the Red Duke Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 AI could have a Threat meter tied to Battle Rating. Game really needs a Fleet group mechanic to be setup upon creation of a conquest flag.

Azzak Posted February 4, 2016 Author Posted February 4, 2016 You have missions, that's fair enough. If you want to capture ships, go to neutral ports.
