admin Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Due to advanced in technological research caused by constant shortages in iron industry have learnt to extract a lot more iron from ore during forging. New technical documentation is being delivered from Europe and is expected to arrive by end of the week. Please continue to report on resource shortages 6
Galileus Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Can we, French of PvP1, create oak wood from iron? We're out for 5 days, and our solo traders are running out of stock fast... ATM prices of oak at Fort Royal can be as high as 250-300 per unit! (TBF, at this moment rich traders are so rich, I don't know if any amount of production increase would stop them from suffocating the market...)
mirror452 Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Does that mean that then you can get 1 Iron Ingot from 1 Iron Ore? Because if yes I would suggest to increase the weight of Iron Ingots.
Tretton Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 Another solution would be to tweak the recipies of the ships so that they require less iron. As of now shipbuilding requiers absurd amounts of iron. Is the 18'th century or the 20'th?!?

As a Dutchman I don't tend to agree with you Frenchies....But I have to concede. I have been short of Oak for the past 2 days, but have abundant Iron. 1
Pirate Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 One thing about Oak that I don't understand is that it shouldn't be suffering that much of a shortage compared to other woods, but it is. I can buy Fir and Teak by the thousands, lucky to find a port with 100 Oak. I think one of the main problems is that a lot of people are, for some reason or another, using Oak as their wood of choice for Frame Parts, when they really should be using something like Teak or Fir, especially when they are just making Trader's Cutters for XP. I could be wrong, obviously I don't have information on the total production amounts for the different wood types, maybe there is just more Teak and Fir getting produced, which would be a problem, since outside of Frame Parts, Oak is the most used, followed by Fir, but it isn't used to the point of annihilating stocks compared to other woods if people were using Fir and Teak for Frame Parts.
Jeytav Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 I have heard that some European countries has found ways to increase their oak production by almost 75% thanks to more advanced equipment and better felling techniques, hopefully they will provide us with the necessary schematics and notes so that we can increase our production of oak as well.
Aussie Pastor Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 Yes, the advent of water wheels are showing speed and accuracy and less waste of ALL timber Products. Plus the new appointment of Samuel Pepys ( https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samuel_Pepys) as the Navy Administrator to the Admiralty, has seen production increased and waste and bribes dwindling. Rule Britannia, for She rules the waves....... 1

For the US it is opposite. We don't have fir, but have oak.
