admin Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Hello Captains We plan to deliver the following fixes before moving to content production and new ships. 1) XP and changing nations We have encountered a lot of problems and confusion with the current system - we plan to add a temporary workaround that will solve the confusion and will provide more flexibility (while keeping the same 1 server - 1 player rule) How it will work You XP will be tied to your Steam account You will still have one account per server But your player name or nation will not be synchronized. This will allow you to freely experiment and will allow to switch nation if you are unsatisfied with your current choice. But you will still have 1 player on the server and this will reduce spying and other high level problems. Deleting a character will delete everything except for XP. 2) Better PvP XP rewards 3) Entering missions as a friendly - needs to be addressed in a separate topic: http://forum.game-labs.net/index.php?/topic/9566-entry-to-missions-your-opinion-needed/ 4) Additional warnings when attacking a friendly (too many people were becoming pirates by mistake) 5) Several potential exploits closed 6) Number of NPC fleets near capitals will be reduced significantly to reduce pulling into battles. Those bot routes will be reallocated to free towns and regional centers. 7) Additional minor bug fixes and changes. 26
Sella Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Will there be a limit on the amount of times you can switch nations?Because if somebody has 2 steam accounts spying will still be possible. 3
C0deX Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 (edited) When comes bettet group XP in missions or quest sharing? Edited February 1, 2016 by C0deX 1
henx125 Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 On addressing entering missions as a friendly, I think a simple solution might be to allow players to go into options and select if they would like to allow being assisted by anyone, clan/friends only, group members only, or no one. This of course should not keep enemies from entering, but in the case of enemies receiving reinforcements maybe their battle could become open to the public automatically?
admin Posted February 1, 2016 Author Posted February 1, 2016 Will there be a limit on the amount of times you can switch nations?Because if somebody has 2 steam accounts spying will still be possible. spying cannot be eliminated completely But remember - enemies cannot read your guild chat or your TS/Ventrilo/Discord 1
Tobosaku Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Good question. Wasn't that announced to thursday/friday this week?
admin Posted February 1, 2016 Author Posted February 1, 2016 What about the Group XP patch? it is coming yes. it does not require changes to code 3

I have some serious concerns it might be highly abusable: Players will be able to switch nations without facing any downsides. Just hand all your items, ships and money towards another player, switch nation, hand the stuff back and you switched nations without any downsides. Possible fix: Allow ppl to switch nations only once per month. Edited February 1, 2016 by Brogsitter 14
Trebs Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 it is coming yes. it does not require changes to code When is it coming ? What about abit more XP For high end missions its the same all the way 100 XP When you get to higher ranks you need over 50000 XP What about the NPCs that has superpowers they can turn way faster than any others and reload faster and still turn and shoot faster with over 50% Of the crew gone 1
Evers Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Anything on carriages? it is massively inflating ship prices, mostly due to the insane iron requirement 2
Mrs Brisby Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 It would seem a cooldown on restarting your character would be prudent, even if only a couple hours, to prevent faction spying. 2
Fesevoa Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 it is coming yes. it does not require changes to code That's good to hear, any estimated date on it going from internal to live or details on how it would work? Bonus XP, everyone get the XP, shared mission XP?
Ledinis Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Anything on carriages? it is massively inflating ship prices, mostly due to the insane iron requirement ^ This... im at the point where i can craft Cerberus, but i have not crafted anything besides trading cutters so far, because of the insane cost to craft any warships with the carriage requirements, and how cheap in comparison an NPC sells the same ship. 1
Captain146 Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 (edited) This is a shame, so now people will be leaving lower pop nations and going with the zerg with hardly any penalty's... How is this a good idea?If you want to switch nations then you should start from new, Devs have done well until now, this is a very bad idea IMO. I can see it now, if it's left like this we will have Brits vs Pirates and nothing else in a year from now. Edited February 1, 2016 by Captain146 4

A sizeable portion of the population are likely to jump to whichever is/are the perceived strongest nations. Brits are already over represented due to starting position and being labelled as 'easy' on char creation. In general I'd like to know what the devs propose to prevent the game ending up with one or two superpowers and hardly anybody playing smaller nations, especially now they're introducing this. Also would like to know how they intend to deal with people exploiting trades to keep all their ships and equipment. (tbh I'd like to see you scrap shared xp across servers altogether. If people want to play a new faction allow us to have distinct chars on each server with no crossover. Why make this overly complex?) Edited February 1, 2016 by Ratline 1
