Yes, because it is really fucking fun to sit behind a ship with hundreds of crew members for an hour and mindlessly fire grape into the stern. I applaud TDA on their autis== I mean tenacity to do such things. No wonder half of you have under crewed Constitutions.

This is a multiplayer game, make some friends.......

First suggestion then is for them to make the missions multiplayer friendly, ie. when completing a mission all involved parties get mission completion.

When sailing in a fleet of 4 players, like I was yesterday, we have to do round-robin style where we complete one mission for each player which means you have to do 3 missions with minimal rewards before you can do your own mission.

If anything the current system is penalizing the multiplayer part of the game, as it encourages just sailing solo with NPC fleet to grind XP.

This is what my group does and it sucks. It's especially tedious because of how far you have to go for missions sometimes and the ones that are smack middle in the ocean can take awhile to find because we have zero navigation aids.

I hope a Teak Surprise works for ya. I couldn't find a Frigate in any of the nearby ports :/

Edit: Having Technical difficulties... Will try to get it done by the end of the day.

How is it going ?

Having trouble.. For some reason i can't seem to get my recording software to compress the files so 10 minutes of play = 15Gb data... (Would take me several days to upload to YT) :(

That said, here is how to do it; (Step by step guide to taking on AI 3rd Rates).

1. Take off stern armor.

2. Load Grape.

3. Stern Rake with grape till 3rd is at 150-200 Crew (Approx).

4. Load Ball and start working the sides.

- While doing this it's important that you realise when the 3rd rate is about to have his broadside loaded. (His 9 pounders will be reloaded first. When he fires those that's your signal.)

- When the third rate is about to have his broadside loaded (the 9 pounder's are fired at you) you turn towards him.

- Never go towards the third rate at a 90 degree angle. You want to angle yourself so that his shots bounce/ricochet.

Doing the above you can take out an AI third rate while taking barely any damage. (I've done it in the Cerberus, Surprise, Frigate, Trincomalee and Constitution. ^^)

This is how i normally fight ships higher then me and in the Reno it is like im in a T-34 tank bouncing rounds like mad, the only downside is the AI has sniper shots even with full broadsides it can put rounds into the bow of the ship even if i angle myself relative to his angle using the minimap. idk the AI aim is a bit wonky at times it will miss an entire broadside, other times it will be like a laser guided hail of rounds on 1 spot.

I can't explain it but over time you will realise how to ALWAYS avoid that broadside for your bow!

Ellis has offered to help me with recording so hopefully i can show exactly how i do soon. :)
