Capture wont work?

I am still in game so would appreciate some help. Press X circle fills but noting happens option to capture appears again. Only other option is to exit battle? I get no options to sail ship home as a prize.

Exit the battle.

 

Then u will get an option to send to outpost or  capture and use it

Thx, mate didn't want to press escape as I have heard others say they lost everything doing so. It however did work for me, very grateful as I was waiting in game for an answer.

For future reference if any one is reading this thread,, the "x" button capture is for you to change ships mid battle of you want to continue fighting in the newly captured ship.

In a one ship boarding action (eg trader capture) as soon as you have successfully boarded, you can send battle and leave and it will take you to the battle results screen.

In the bottom will be your captured ship. You can either send it to an outpost you own or take command. Right click on the captured ship to choose your option. Ignore the admiralty option as it does not exist in game yet.
