Brought the game and have invested 34hrs (time of work this week) and really love playing it...

Im afraid though as of next week when i go back to work (real life) that will pretty much the end of it.

Unfortunately for me and quite alot of others (according to game chat) the game requires way too much time. Whilst i understand the realism point of view its just not possible to use hours on end sailing from one point to another for a few resources to craft..ports to discover etc etc.

The game needs to be more casual in some sense...I can teleport once every 4hrs or choose to sail an hour to my next port. I find myself playing one game on one monitor whilst sailing on another monitor as i search and purchase that one needed resource of many to get into crafting.

Is this how the future will be for the game? Appealing to those who obviously have a shitload of time to spend enjoying all aspects of the game. Im not flaming here..i seriously think the game is great.

Im just having a hard time understanding how i can enjoy the game knowing i have to sail hours on end (at times) to get the most out of it.

*Let us teleport to our own ports once an hour at a price

*Let us rent a captain to transfer one of our ships from one port to another for a price and time penalty

*Let me rent and send out scout ships to travel and verify prices in certain ports for me so i dont have to spend a lot of time sailing and looking (prices changing constantly). Travel to ports X Y and Z and the cost of X amount......total time X mins/hours for the report. When i have verified a price, then its up to me to sail and collect (knowing the the trip is worth while).

*Daily missions? Travel to X port for X amount of XP

Just throwing ideas out there that could somehow balance things and make the game more approachable for those that cant play hours on end daily..

I tend to disagree with your suggestions. Crafting and econ are not meant to be easy or accessible to every casual player. It should take a team to build ships and unless you are playing 10 hours s day you do need a team.

Casual players can still do some trading. It's just slow paced without instant gratification.

I think you will find this game ends up with a mature player base who work and have families. Casual players playing 1-2 hours s night will be the norm I think.

There are way around all your problems...You just need to set up your gaming to accommodate what you can do. Some of the tools / suggestions:

1. You can arrange deliveries of goods between free towns.

2. You can use buy / sell contracts to get resources

3. You can teleport between your own outposts -without ship

4. You can teleport to capital. with ship

5. You can move to an area where missions / NPCs / resources are nearby. Note it may take a while to find a good area, but hey, you need to do some exploring, and the game has only just started... you cant expect to be up and running immediately at your starter capital.

6. [Riskier] You can sail AFK if you are going on a long overseas journey.

7. To move ships around you can capture a ship (any ship) and take control of it, and send your original ship to any of your outposts.

8. Small battles in Port allows instant PVP action for xp gold and fun.
