JJWolf Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 Wait what? when did trader snows STOP using their guns? A while ago, they haven't used them in a while. 1
Shadowbreed Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 tbh i was fine with its glass sides - i just wanted whatever was making it flip to be fixed. that is my sore point. It still does that
Marx Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 Every ship is unique. Probably this one was made of Fir? and the previous one was live oak with build strength trait? Loving the new subforum guys! Keep up the great work!
C0deX Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 (edited) Today Group XP hotfix? Edited January 29, 2016 by C0deX 1
Quineloe Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 Every ship is unique. Probably this one was made of Fir? and the previous one was live oak with build strength trait?no its the same ship. I might just be wrong but I am 84% sure it was +-1750 before
Quineloe Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 I like the timer. If you font touch your computer in 30 minutes I call it afk. Even if your ship is moving. TBH I think 30 minutes is too soft, I would go with 15 or 20. there was no queue at 10pm CET last night. What more do you want to achieve,?
Vast Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 3 free redeemable ships, where did these come from?
Sly Sliver Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 3 free redeemable ships, where did these come from? Maybe read announcements from time to time?
poison Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 (edited) My thoughts: Trader snows now bring gunpowder, good! The AFK timer is accurate, appropriate, and accepted. It could even be reduced, since all you need to do to stay "active" is talk in chat. There's simply no reason why someone who is not away doing something can't revisit their ship at least once every 20 minutes or so...and if you are away from your keyboard for half an hour, are you really contributing to the game at that point? There is a chat -- typing in chat alone will reset the timer. So join help chat and help me answer the same half dozen questions over and over until my chat breaks or I get sick of it. Or tack -- it's highly unlikely you'll be able to sail for half an hour in the same course at a good rate. A little tacking goes a long way. Is it bad that the people who are complaining about the timer seem to me like the same people that want a PvE server? Edit: I definitely liked being able to log in immediately after I got back from work (despite the server reading "full"), at around 2200 GMT. Be it from the increased server cap or the AFK timer, I support both. Niagara did feel like it turned slowly, but I chalked that up to my 2nd lieutenant and blue marines leaving me undermanned at 132 crew. Not sure if this is accurate, but was something accidentally done to battle speed? In missions it felt like I was crawling at under 4 knots in my yacht and the privateer seemed even slower, though I know I was doing at least 8 knots every time I thought to look. Henry d'Esterre Darby Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 We still need the patch notes for today The servers go down for maintenance, backups, etc. every day. There may not be a code change or patch every day.
TommyShelby Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 The servers go down for maintenance, backups, etc. every day. There may not be a code change or patch every day. But today it said "Server down for Update" instead of "Server down for Maintenance". So ofcourse we're all eagerly waiting for patch notes
Ratline Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 The servers go down for maintenance, backups, etc. every day. There may not be a code change or patch every day. Steam also showed a download for NA when I logged on after downtime.
Pokerjoker Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 Has the Surprise been stealth nerfed? it seems to move WAY slower + turn slower after update on Friday 29th.01.2016.cant keep up with Bella Poule, Cerebus and Frigate..
Henry d'Esterre Darby Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 But today it said "Server down for Update" instead of "Server down for Maintenance". So ofcourse we're all eagerly waiting for patch notes I didn't see that. I'm not aware of any updates at this time. It either was a result of a mis-selected "reason down" option, or Admin wasn't able to give patch notes. I can ask in the morning when he's awake.
Nash Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 68lbs nades for AIs 3rd? do you thing its a bit too much?
eriks Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 I'm having real trouble getting steam to download the update. Keeps timing out. Anyone else having this issue or is it a more local problem?
Henry d'Esterre Darby Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 I haven't heard of this issue to date. Is there a problem with your firewall/network?
eriks Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 I haven't heard of this issue to date. Is there a problem with your firewall/network? Nothing has changed.
eriks Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 I haven't heard of this issue to date. Is there a problem with your firewall/network? Seems to have fixed itself. Likely a local ISP error. 1
Captain Longbeard Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 (edited) Group xp awards are also improved in the internal build. It needs additional checking and might be deployed on Friday (but this is not a promise). What exactly do you mean my improved? The share being more fair or? I assume you wont get kicked for that because technically you are still being active by sailing. I would imagine the afk timer would kick in for those sitting in ports? Thats what I'm wondering as well. I think (and hope) the afk timer accounts for all the people who are not actively playing the game, in ports our out in the open sea. So yeah, sailing a long distance wouldn't trigger the boot, but then again, thats what I hope. Edited January 30, 2016 by Captain Longbeard
JJWolf Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 (edited) Can we get more transparency on maintenance please? Patches need notes, even if it's just a ninja patch, when I see my NA downloading a file or two then something has changed and I'd like to know so if it's something I can test I will check it out. gozer Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 so disappointing to see Steam download something, heading to forums and finding no patch notes ...
