So i got 2 questions, first off which is about ship upgrades. Now i have this upgrade called "Marines" which says "CREW Module_Base_HP 10% - DECK ALL Cannon_Base_Reload_Time 10%", now i'm assuming the first part means that my crews base hp is +10%, but im not sure about the latter. Is it +10% aswell which would mean it takes longer, or is it 10% less? One of the reasons i'm confused is that other upgrades specifically say -X% and others have decimal values like 0.025. I'm finding it quite hard to get my head around this aspect of the game.

Second question is about hiring ships for my fleet. I decided to get myself an AI cutter when i reached Junior Lieutenant, and it said i could have 4(or 5) ships in total, but only 2 accompanying me. Then i ranked up to Lieutenant, and now it tells me i can't have any ships anymore? How does that make sense exactly?

3. after rank 3 you cant recruit ai due to them being a real pain in PVP

Did they not only spawn in battles against other AI? never seen them spawn in small pvp battles, if you are referring to open world pvp I would think it makes sense they spawn in to help the player.

I reached rank 3 and I really could use them in rank 4 missions even with just cutters at my side.

They do not spawn in events, they always spawn in open world if you have them no matter PVP or PVE, also at rank 4 and later you can still have them if you bought them before rank 3.

Regarding fleet past rank 3, does this also apply to trading ships too or are they treated separately ?

Once we reach level 4 we are still using the same trading ships as before, no better defense or cargo size but no more escort possible ( even if it's often not of a great help but can discourage some players to attack sometimes or help you to flee, especially since the waters become more and more dangerous with a lot of bigger ships encountered now )

I might stop my XP progression as trading a lot for crafting and the resources need a lot of long traveling in dangerous waters far away.

Seems a bit unfair if trading ships are treated the same way as combat ships, especially since there is no better trading ships than brig and snow trader and no progression possible in this domain compared to armed ships getting bigger and bigger and equipped with dozen and dozen of canons :/
