Ruthless4u Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 Normally I despise mission snipers, and can't wait until they fix the issue, but in this case I will make an exception. 2 mins into a fight I seen 2 other ships join to " help " me. After several minutes of very bad maneuvers on their part I witnessed them have a head on collision, shortly after they both sank. I checked their status to make sure they didn't escape and had them listed as sunk. I hope the idiots learned their lesson, well maybe not. To much entertainment. 2
Sir Richard Bolitho Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 And you didn't tell then about the #8, LOL.
Mansen Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 Oh man... Wish I got people like that. I've had to verbally threaten a few ships who thought it'd be real clever to try and sail between me and my target... just as I let loose a volley of carronade. Makes you want to flip them right over for griefing you (And I have on occasion)
Sir Richard Bolitho Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 The worst thing is that if you hit them you get negative XP.
Cmdr Thrudd Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 I got a master and commander mission from Carlisle and it spawned the location right outside Port Royal. As can be expected I picked up a few 'helpers' in cutters. The surprise I was fighting duly sunk them in short order. It was rather amusing.
Sir Texas Sir Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 I got a master and commander mission from Carlisle and it spawned the location right outside Port Royal. As can be expected I picked up a few 'helpers' in cutters. The surprise I was fighting duly sunk them in short order. It was rather amusing. This is why I check the ship difference ratings and numbers. I joined a few the guys look like they have it taken care of and than left. Than I joined a few I stuck around to help them to keep them from being sunk. Than again not every one has played games like this before. I'm still a noob in my book and I think I would of been tempted to joined you battle just to watch from a very very very far distance lol
JTW Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 I'm hoping this tendency will fix itself. In the first 2 hours i played this game, i entered a battle where my 3 'allies' apparently had the upper hand already, and they proceeded to shoot and sink me. I didn't know any better at the time, but since then I've realized that i were intruding. Since then I've had people intrude on my battles several times, but never in anything bigger than the Basic Cutter. However last night i was left alone in every fight i had except when i was actually in trouble and their help was needed, and in 2 other cases i had a ship come in, ask me if i needed assistance and then leave once i told them i had everything covered. could have had a lucky day i suppose, but I'm hoping that it's mostly the new guys who simply don't know any better who are interfering atm, and that this issue will therefore fix itself in the future.
poison Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 (edited) It's fun when two Dutchies run in on your halfway-done English mission (on pirate side), just to run you off. Battle join timer still needs to be reduced, and I wouldn't be against restricting other nations from joining as well. Edit: Last night I joined a neutral v pirate fight on neutral side...didn't realize pirates got missions against neutrals and players got them against pirates. I took a few shots at the pirate, then realized the neutral "players" we're sailing stupidly...Asked if they were ai, pirate said yes, and I apologized and left. I also wouldn't be against seeing neutral ports being converted into free ports, and players doing missions only against the "neutral" faction. Edited January 26, 2016 by poison
