Ruthless4u Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 Was in a battle earlier and took a broadside while switching ammo types. Ended up with a red X on the reload indicator and was unable to use them rest of the battle. I have lost 1 or 2 cannon in the course of a battle but not the entire side in one hit. Is this possible or was it a bug?
Nerdwing Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 Hmm... you may have pressed F1, F2 etc to disable that deck's guns by accident. And FYI, to repair/swap cannons you can press 5, then 3. its on a cooldown though, and is shared with the same cooldown to fix the rudder, pump, etc
AtomicTiger Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 i did not knew 5-3 is repairing guns, i do it with the hull repair 5-1 O.o but yeah if not all were shot of your ship by an enemy or your side was underwater u may hit some F1-F4 key which are disabeling or enabeling the gun decks.
Ruthless4u Posted January 25, 2016 Author Posted January 25, 2016 It was in my basic cutter, so not sure if you can disable half the deck. Will have to try next time I'm on.
Henry d'Esterre Darby Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 A red X means that the cannon were underwater, or they were disabled via the F keys. Usually when you take a broadside, you might lose a gun or two. I'm assuming losing them all to a broadside would show a 0, but I've never seen it.

Don't think they could be underwater when I had no leaks, also it was at the beginning of the match(2nd broadside) so barely any planking was damaged. Next time I log in I'll try the F keys on the cutter to see if that was it.

Happens often on SoL with the chaser's. It also happens in small ships like Lynx, Cutter, Privateer etc. It's rare that they are all destroyed but it does happen.
LeeUK Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 Sounds like you disabled the deck to me if it was at the start of the match lol. Of course the feature is pointless on a 1 deck ship.
