Good to be back and what nation are you all leaning towards

Took a long break shortly after OW started. Did not want to overdue this game and get burned out. Enjoyed it too much.  So happy to be back, and very cool to see some framiliar names in game still. So what seems to be the popular nations you all are starting in?  Looking forward to the 21st (well maybe not..might just craft in port that day..think it might be a little crazy witht he new peeps trying out their new shiny cannons on anything that moves lol).

It was a very very hard choice for me after accounts were disabled.

Saw game available on steam for all, launched it again after long time not touching it for various reasons ( I hope most problems were fixed , especially controls on azerty layout keyboard and performances / GFX settings ) , barely touched open world, need now to create new player and choose a Nation, ( no hints for Nations possible in the creation page btw, just need to type one apparently  nevermind, saw there was a list of Nations ) and came back to the forums to check a bit and found this thread, still not decided about name or Nation to use...

 

So many things probably changed that i will need a long time to familiarize again with the game  :/

I was with the game a year ago, just came back. Boy is it lots of new things to learn (crafting wtf!?). I went with Pirates as I'm super tired of "my country is better then yours, na-na-na-naah" that always how up in games where you can pick countries.

I haven't seen anything of that nature in regards to nationals. We actually enjoy good-natured rivalries with other national players. If anything I have seen a lot of banter from Pirates lately who seem to heavily believe the whole "we're Pirates so we're better than you." Because the game treats them like a Nation and all the territorial baggage therewith, and doesn't allow them to do Piratey things, which is a shame.

I chose Britain myself, because I am English and only speak English. I did consider playing another European Nation but what I noticed before is that most of them aren't native English speakers or barely speak it and those that do speak English well enough for me to talk to, would probably revert back and forth from English to their native language, utterly confusing me in Nation chat and teamspeak, or just leave me feeling left out lol.

 

I would have chose Pirates but until they have some proper mechanics worked out for them and aren't just a Nation disguised by a black flag, they aren't for me.

I didn't say there is any such country-boasting right now - it will be though, be sure of it.

Unfortunately Germany is not a playable nation.

 

Hence I chose the USA, since all these european imperialists need to get removed from the Americas (plus I like it how American ships fly the Star Spangled Banner with 15 stars and 15 stripes).
