Hello, All!

I'm Forvet and I love old sailing games. History in them goes back to "Pirates! Gold", leading through games like the "Pirates of the Caribbean" on the Xbox, to more recently Pirates of the Burning Sea. While I am not 100% sure how games like that will transfer over to this game, I'm sure I'll be able to find the correct tack eventually. I originally saw this game last year, around the time I believe PC Gamer or MassivelyOP did an article about it (I might be mistaken.) But it was around the time the Constitution had first been revealed. However, it seemed so far from Closed or Open Beta that I let it fall to the wayside. I was surfing Steam and spotted it on the upcoming Early Access and almost squealed in a most unmanly manner in excitement.

This brings me to here! In regards to things other than my gaming history, I am a member of the US Coast Guard. Due to this, I'm extremely excited to get my hands on a Naval Cutter and see if I can fly the Revenue Cutter Service Pennant from a Halyard. Barring that, I look forward to being an intrepid explorer! I've never been too good at PVP, and I can try my hand at some PVE (If there is such a thing in this game.), but I've always been intrigued by finding new places and exploring... in other MMOs this often leads to a lowly level 12 wandering around a level 70-80 area getting constantly ganked by mobs just to see what's around the next corner!

In regards to favorite naval sailing vessels, aside from the requisite Cutter, I'd have to say my absolute favorite is the Xebec. Something about triple Lateen sails and that smooth flowing architecture just wins me over! Barring that, give me a sloop or a fast sailing Clipper of some sort.

Welcome to the game.

Right now there isn't really a mechanic for exploration unfortunately, but the Devs have talked about one. But there is a great big Open World ocean.

At the moment the game is largely focused on PvP combat, PvE combat and crafting.

But now is a good time to jump in. The game is fun as-is and they will be adding features and content going forward.

Welcome aboard.   Still quite Noobish myself.  Its a 99% friendly community here and hopefully will remain that way.   Get the wind in your hair, the salt air in your nostrils and have at it!  We'll see you at Sea.
