Dregeth Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 Alright, let us just be honest, what is the point in having a fleet if all you can have in your fleet is cutters, and lynx. if everyone wants to complain about snow's being in pvp. Why don't we simply remove ALL AI controlled vessels in any pvp battle. but allow us to keep them in PVE battles. So lets bring them back in. 2
Kokerpiraat Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 (edited) I do agree that in PvE having the fleet was not a problem. And I don't see why the AI fleet simply was not removed for PvP battles. Yet, it makes it more challenging, and I have no objection against that either. Edited January 7, 2016 by vandos
z4ys Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 There wasn't any fleets that helped us grinding in the beginning. Yes solo playing is possible without that fleets. It was all fine without them (grinding and pvp) Fleets are just a tool to make things very easy a candy for PvElers. In my opinion player Ai fleets are the most annoying feature in this game. People hide behind there fleets and never learn this game. They don't learn positioning and fighting against multiple enemies at the same time. Furthermore the game shows to new player because of player Ai fleets that hiding and running and let others do your job is the right way to play. 1
Bart Smith Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 Simple solution: keep fleets in pve server and remove them completly from pvp server. 1
Powderhorn Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 I had mentioned as a possible officer suggestion the Flag Lieutenant, which would allow a person to have AI fleets of player-made vessels. I think limiting fleets to an officer capability might be the way to go. (The thread referenced is in my signature.)
Ink Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 Dregeth, the point of recent changes in the fleet mechanic is to help very newcomers to learn basic of combat. Also, overall mission difficulty has been reduced so you mostly likely won't need any help from your snows

Also, overall mission difficulty has been reduced so you mostly likely won't need any help from your snows Like how you enter a mission for 2nd Lt and face off against a Mercury and Naval Brig while in command of a Snow with two Cutters for support? AI fleets should scale based on rank and only be on the PvE server, let the PvP playerbase have their gankathon and when the economy goes downhill they might begin to understand why traders migrated to the PvE server. 1

What and who are the traders going to trade with on the PvE server if none is losing anything? 2 servers is a terrible idea. If they keep fleets make the players have to purchase the ship then you buy the crew plus upkeep. If you NPC ship sinks it hurts a little more and if they don't you still have to pay for the privilege.
