Toothless Jack Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 Hi all I think this one is the worst idea ever and easiest way to ruin the game. Its OK now at alpha stage if you want to test nation then pirates but after release who stops you to start in some easy nation, get your craft levels up get your ranks and resources then turn to pirates? Its exploit that can be avoided and it should in my opinion. If you want hardcore game.. start as one. Any comments would be much appreciated.

Means, as soon as you turn pirate, you lose all your warehouses and the wares inside them. No matter if the warehouse was in a neutral or free town or in a national town. Also all ships in national ports (and maybe also in free ports?) would be confiscated. Also your rank should be resetted, since among pirates it doesn't really matter what rank you were in... say, the british navy. Maybe you should not lose 100% of the xp, but maybe like 75%. Then the only thing you could carry over to your "new life" would be the ship you are sailing, your money and the wares you have on your ship.

Completely agree with all ideas as long as its not too difficult to implement. But one thing is clear.. Something has to be done about it PS. Where have you seen British or American caught pirating and released with all his ships, guns and resources he plundered? If you want to go go as a real pirate. With the eye-patch and a knife ! This was never intended as a hardcore game. The pirate role will be worked on, wait with getting your panties in a bunch.

Historically every pirate was born a national leveling his/her walking, reading and speaking skills first and then turning pirate.
