Of the three I prefer the Navy Brig the least. The brigs are rather large yet have a low profile when compared to the Snow. This said, I found that the snow had a slightly harder time of shooting other low-profile vessels (such as brigs and schooners) but it is much smaller in size (and therefore more maneuverable) when compared to the brigs.

The biggest thing is that the Snow has bow and stern chasers whereas the Navy Brig only has stern chasers and the Mercury doesn't have any chasers at all. Those chasers are nice to have when hunting down traders.

i sail the Mercury currently, but I would probably pic the snow again if I had the chance.

I think if you are picking between a Snow and a Merc, the question would come down to the role you wish to have in combat. I think the Snow has an easier time chasing down and engaging opponents. However, the Merc can take a heavier beating and keep things pinned down as it were. As a solo player, I might suggest the Snow over the Merc.

One of the things often overlooked is the profile of the vessel itself. The Mercury looks awesome, but also has a low profile. It can be very tricky to hit. The Snow, on the other hand, sits fairly high in the water for that class. Still, the Snow has chasers.

For me, I would pick a Mercury.

Yes. I learned the undermanned crew mistake already. Have a Cerberus sitting around that I can only crew to about 130 (plus some marines).

So the Cerberus is going to sit idle when I continue through the 6th rates first.
