Can some one with tell me pve server limits ?

I have a good idea about pvp.  U can attack every one but your own nation. Pirates attack all ships.

PVE = ?   Port battles?

I imagine u cant attack other players in open sea,   but is there more limitations. ?

This game lacks information, i hope it is addressed before launch.

Thx.

PVE server = PVP server - Port Battles - you can't attack players, only bots.

Aside from that, PVE server provide the same features as the PVP one.

PvE server should still offer Port Battles (PBs) in the form of a larger percentage of AI to players per side. This would offer the full experience with an option of PvP and make up the shortfall in numbers of players willing to join into PBs on a PvE server. Additionally I don't see why players couldn't flag themselves as PvP enabled to allow for opposing players to enter encounters to oppose them. PotBS had this system partially correct, the bad part was the contention areas around port that forced the PvP flag on PvE focused captains.

I hope they DONT have Port Battles. In my opinion they have made the PVP game almost redundant.Just look at the map........60 to 70% of ports are owned by the Dutch!

Guys I've some questions about PVP stuff as well...

If you can't attack your own nation, then how do you become a pirate after you picked other nation? I heard that you'll turn to pirate by team killing?

Lymark, you can attack your own nation ships, (both players and AI for PVP and AI for PVE servers) you have heard the wrong rumors it seems :)

Well There is PVE on USA soil.  I haven't tested  it as ping is to high, but if other ppl done it maybe we could get a description.

To many guesses so fare.

You cant become anyone on the PvE server as you can't attack anyone. Green on green damage (teamkilling) will eventually force full account reset on both servers. But as far as I know friendly damage is off on PVE.

But to be clear, he could become a pirate "legally" by attacking an AI ship of his own nation right?

Yes, he could. I've just made the experience with an unused character on the PVE server in order to able to answer you.  :)

So, all you need to do is to attack your own nation ONCE in order to become a pirate in your entire life. What if you accidentally clicked the attack button? Is there a way to make up for what you did instead of creating a new character?

Yes, if you attack a ship of your nation (without contraband) once, your character definitely becomes a pirate, unless there's an amnesty.

However, when you click the attack button (accidentally or not) while tagging a friendly AI (or a player on the PVP server), a warning window will pop up with something like "Are you sure you want to become a pirate ?" and you'll have to click the Confirm button. Then, you are a pirate. A cancel button allows you to backtrack and let the friendly ship sail away.

PS : traders of your nation with contraband goods on board can freely be attacked without the risk of becoming a pirate.

Can you team up with other nations players on the PvE server? I'm assuming not at the moment but once the political stuff comes in and you can ally with other nations maybe?
