Jon Allen Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 (edited) Among the 7th rates, what's the best combat ship out there? Looking at Pickles and Privateers for example, and the in-game information in the ship store is rather limited. I've found some breakdowns of various ships on these forums, their "stats" I suppose, but some seem to be outdated. Think in terms of participating in small battle events. Captain Holman Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 Save up for a bigger ship. For small battles, a snow, mercury or navy brig will be the best you can get.
Prater Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 Save up for a bigger ship. For small battles, a snow, mercury or navy brig will be the best you can get. Depends on what type of fighting you want to do. A skilled captain can take a Brig/NBrig/Merc/Snow in a Privateer. Whereas none of these vessels can catch a Privateer. True, most Privateers won't be able to catch the brigs/snows if they go downwind, but quite often being in a smaller ship causes your enemies to let their guard down. My kill log is case in point. The Pickle is a good all round ship. I don't know if they changed its speed at the different angles, but it used to be able to outrun every ship out there at some angle of sail. The Lynx, Pickle, Privateer and Surprise are the best Solo hunter (pvp) ships out there in my opinion. 1
GrapeShot Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 (edited) The Pickle is vastly underrated by a lot of folks. When I was mapping for Booyah I circumnavigated a good chunk of the Caribbean in one. Ran when I had to, which was often, and fought when I could. Fun little ship. Scorpio Shirica Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 I would also recommend the Pickle. It is a fun little ship and can take a surprising amount of punishment for its size and maneuverability.
manuva85 Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 Privateer... bcs speed against the wind and 18pd carronades
