can't log in since the maintenance

When I try to log in it first say:

 

Connecting to login queue...

then after maybe two minuttes it give me this error.
 

Error: login queue request failed

This is usually a problem with Steam. Please try restarting your computer and if that doesn't work, let us know.

Now I get:
Connecting to login queue...
 

Awaiting in login queue... Position: 

Error; login queue ticket was expired

and after repeated attempts I sometimes get one error... and sometimes get the other.

Have tried to remove the game and reinstall it. No effect.

 

 

Then I realized that I had not tried to shut off my router and restart it... that worked...
