Tiberious Gates Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 Ok. I am brand new to Naval Action. As in I just got my key like 5 minutes ago. I wanted to ask the community and forums and get some advice on this game. I will be starting with a buddy of mine but I want to know if any nation is like a go to for starters? I wanted to Play French since I am a Veteran of Pirates of The Burning Seas and I played a third and first rate for the French in that game. But I want to know like are different ship classes limited to certain nations? Are there any bonuses to certain nations. What Nations have the most activity? Also looking for some groups to learn with. Since Im sure some of yall have played burning seas so looking for a little help.
William the Drake Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 (edited) As it stands, England and America are the largest populations in-game. There are no class-ship restrictions like there were in PotBS, so don't worry about that. For the most part, all nations work the same, and pirates are a bit more dangerous to play as they can be legitimately targeted by pretty much everyone. There are also some of the largest guilds for England (SLRN) and America (Decatur Armada) so check them out if you're looking for soc.s in those nations. Check out the Guilds Forum for a full list of guilds and societies. Edited December 21, 2015 by William the Drake

Prater Posted December 23, 2015 Posted December 23, 2015 Keep your yacht for awhile. It repairs for free. Get 6lb longs or 12lb carronades and equip them as soon as possible. Just get into battle as much as possible and try to learn gunnery. Shoot ships, don't be afraid to be sunk (your ship is free), and learn the game. Don't be afraid of pvp. Even if you lose, you are more likely to learn the proper way of fighting than you are from the AI. 1
