Beauty in the details

I just wanted to exclaim my appreciation for one of the new items added into the game since the last patch. The stern lights.

 

You see, I very much love the little details in games that make it all the more authentic. From sounds of creaking timbers to the chatter of crew. The mass of rigging running hither and thither. The jacks and pennons. The movement of the water. The day-night cycle in both OW and battle. And now the lights; all of it making an already fun game absolutely beautiful to look at. (Too bad I can't take HD pictures of them  )

 

Even in a non-HD screenshot at medium graphics, it looks superb. The icing on the cake is the reflection of the light as well.

 

The game takes so much effort into the smallest details, and that's what I love about the game. Because you can watch as cannon smoke slowly glides across the water, actually hindering accuracy. Watching the pennons and jacks flutter in the wind. All of it makes the game positively resplendent.

So this simply a "job well done" from this pirate, and I look forward to how you will surprise me further with regards to "the little details"

Are those HD or regular screenshots? Because I can't seem to be able to take HD ones, much to my dismay.

Those are Full HD, i dont use the ingame screenshot option though.

You magnificent bastards did it again. You thought we wouldn't notice, thought you could be sneaky and slip in some new stuff under our noses. Well we caught you, and I'm lovin' ya for it!

 

I'm now sorely tempted to go back and sail my Privateer or Pickle just so I can look at my own lanterns. These are superb and I hope you add some to the larger ships (if at all possible).

 

Keep doin' what your doing, because it's a beautiful thing.

It is truly Superb! If i look into the aft windows of my surprise at night I can see a dinning table with lanterns on it and chairs inside the ship when I zoom in. That's attention to details! Great work Devs
