These are gorgeous! I agree on more smoke and increased audio on canons. Maybe I can't see it on my computer screen at this lower resolution but is there visual damage being done to these ships? I see the boards flying off but I don't see damage to the ships.

Exactly, besides you can just zoom out if you're having trouble seeing. 

 

Something that is more of a (non) issue in my opinion is the haze/fog on the horizon, you can't see the flags and thus can't tell friend from foe. It's a good idea to have fog and haze, but maybe it could be scaled back a little. It's not something Unity does very well. I remember in my own maps things just become silhouettes after a certain distance.

We love it when you guys ask for realism in detailed sailor sock placement management, yet start crying when you can't see enemy flag from 2 km away in dense fog.

It's exactly how it was in real life. In dense fog you could not see what ship was that and had to guess it or go there and investigate. 

 

Go scout.. if you are not sure - run from battle, but remember Admiral Bing got executed for running.

I was wondering if you guys plan to make a video about weather only, showing the different stage of work in progress and what you already got. It could serve as a promotional video in late development or something like that.

 

Watching those waves start from very calm to hard sea could be very nice.

You are seriously underestimating the importance of dry socks.

very very strange but on videos ships look like 3x times faster than they feel in game

My theory is they are just action packed moments without the 10 mins getting there. And the ones with music have little sections edited out to fit the song. But I think they are actual speed, unless nvidia Shadowplay speeds things up.

i say it because of optical illussion when looking top down on them you have no fixpoint to base your estimation on so you take...

THE WAVES wich could move towards your bow while you are sailing towards them could giv the impression that youa re twice as fast as you really are

realy good videos,the how to rack a first rate video was great for the explanation,neve was try to doi this in game,and some times was stacked trying to turn agaist the wind,realy good!waiting for more :)

When this game is in full release there all the beta testers and supporters should get to get together in game like the ships side by side and take one big screenshot it would be an awesome thanks to all the beta testers and developers.

The videos are amazing, the gameplay looks superb but I do have a question that has probably been answered somewhere. Will all nations be using ships from other nations like we see in the videos? Or can we expect each nation to have their own ships.
