Hethwill, the Red Duke Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 Well, given the downtime in hobby time spent on gaming there wasn't too much NA. Beach, family, friends and outdoors been taking its toll but could squeeze in a couple hours. Sorry in advance for the derrogatory tone of voice but it is the naked truth Block and Riposte A two battles sequence versus the same captain and skybot scum. Good fun and overall a positive outcome. Still I do not understand why the need to have a silly NPC to help out. Player was doing next to nothing and learning absolutely nothing. #nofleets

z4ys Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 (edited) I was steering my Surprise to Little Inagua as a player in a Bucentaure attacked an AI Trincomalee right in front of me. Challenge accepeted! Edited July 29, 2016 by z4ys 1
Hethwill, the Red Duke Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 Pirates-of-the-line We were raiding around Jamaica already counting 3 surrendered traders when we came upon a gathering storm between some Pirate clan and the Royal Navy boys. We decided to assess the situation to break the routine. Felt a bit "sad" due to the BR difference but RN had enough ships around that refused to join and help so... nothing to point out. the Longest Day We were chased by a highly spirited Royal Navy frigate captain. It gave way to the longest day. Sadly we couldn't repeat the spectacular captures we did up in Florida. A big salute to the RN captain. Pirates ye be warned! After being interdicted by a hell of a loudmouth player with interesting choices of vocabulary I was shortly after interdicted by another US coast guard captain. Some thoughts and I decided to take up the challenge for a 1v1. After a great battle the crew finally voted for making it safe and abandon ship. We jump off board and swim to the shore and disappear into the jungle and make our way back to Sunbury on foot... Salute to the US captain, awesome fun battle.
Hethwill, the Red Duke Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 I was expecting the Spanish Inquisition Two on one... !? Let's game then.In normal circumstances this would be a hairy spot. The Lynx is like an apache knife fighter. Two are murder in the right hands...so I had to play the "surprise mo****ers" game and gain the upper hand right from the start. Trader Snow ! C'mon ! One of first prizes during last night raid down at Jamaica and Cays. Was a good warm up for the rest of the raid. Take what you can, leave nothing behind A perfect ambush. RN coast guard thought it would be one raider but we kept the second in the shade. Me. Problem is, upon taking the prize, a very nice and fully laden trader with silver, stone and redwood, it would be a question of risking taking the entire prize and lose it back by being captured by the RN coast guard outside or take what we could and stay safe... decisions decisions... what a fumble !... The final capture of the night while making our way back to the pirate haven. It end with me letting the prize go while trusting on a pvp capture mechanic. We were unsure of it but decided to test if it works... it doesn't. Lesson learned. 2
Hethwill, the Red Duke Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 Raider got raided I was sailing along the northern reaches of Cuba when a very confident United Provinces captain tried to come after the Hyena. Obviously he didn't know what he was doing trying to give chase and obviously gave up and decided to attack a Spanish 'Le Gros Ventre'. I was quite curious to see what was going to happen and if the opportunity arose steal the LGV if the Dutch managed win the fight. NPC fleet liberated Oh this is a good one, especially for the gallantries exchange in chat. It starts with Battle Rating testing if the NPC Fleet lends the BR to the player, which it does. Then the LGV unleashes all the confidence on us.Bad masters make for unhappy crew which were liberated from a lousy employer. Their master abandoning them to our mercy, which we have shown. SPECIAL No.1 A combat between two captains, Ellis and Blood Hound. Camera work. Pyracy is not easy Tried my luck on a LGV but couldn't keep her in battle. A good try though and a nice shake run for the crew on the new privateer stationed at Island Harbour. Login...sail...prize! Login, set sail and immediately get a prize. Ah ! Some days are just perfect. Many thanks to the efforts of the affected captain. 1
DodgerRoger Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 More action from the Mighty Pirates (note this isn't recent footage, I'm working through my backlog) 1
Hethwill, the Red Duke Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 Naval Action raw footage capture feat. Ellis Although I feel disturbed about the absurd amount of BR thrown at Ellis I took the chance to record some raw footage without UI to use later on something.
Hethwill, the Red Duke Posted August 24, 2016 Posted August 24, 2016 ...nothing but bots Another start of the evening and came across a gallant maritime trading company captain. Proceeded to attack despite the use of a NPC fleet on his behalf. Chances were long odds but gained something out of it. Royal Navy hunt Shortly after the liberation of the bot fleet from captain Jak, had the displeasure of being intercepted by a zealous RN captain. Didn't go much on our favour and on my defense - We didn't run away, we escaped the noose - good battle. Salute! Swedish pressure By the end of the session the crew decided to go to Swedish waters and check what was going on. Here we came across a famous Pirate, captain Blood Hound and decided to stick together and see if we could get into trouble. Didn't take long to get ourselves intercepted by the Swedes so the drums and the guns started roaring. #nofleets Liberating bots from a cruel human master in two successive engagements. Bots deserve to be liberated from player tyranny ! They deserve a better life roaming on their own. #freethebots Salute !
Hethwill, the Red Duke Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 Storm hunter This is a stormy simple, plain, and most classic chance encounter. Amidst that foul weather we bump into a trader. So long for cover of darkness Something wrong After a whole "lifetime" of raiding there are trader's traits that are common when they carry a full load. One of them is the class shown in chat giving them away... Yarr ! de Belleville Throwing myself into harm's way to help to le corsaire de Belleville. the power of PRAYer Pray and it shall be answered. Literally it Works. Well ...not on a plate, we still had a hell of a fight. #nofleets

Hethwill, the Red Duke Posted August 31, 2016 Posted August 31, 2016 The gun spacing in L'Océan looks quite spot on with the rolling broadside tempo.

Zooloo Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 (edited) My youtube channel : https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCtNg8IQCDvahjN3FEl418lg I'm posting only challenging fights or surprising situations Most fight are some solo / small group actions since im quite a lone wolf in this game. My favorites : A 1vs3, Renommée versus Frigate+Snow+Mercury ! This fight was really nervous and the mercury survived a BIG fire shock 2x Belle poule versus Frig+Trinc+Surprise, nothing special but... well i loved this fight ! A small fight i have to mention because there is a nice story attached to it. I fought those guys and since they were beginners, i offered to let them escape when the battle was almost over in my favor. (i don't want to drive away new players from the game, and it can be very frustrating to get sunk in pvp when you are beginner) They declined the offer and fought till the end but... I met them again yesterday, they had BP+2x Reno. We fought, BP escaped almost dead, I sunk one reno and at this point the last reno finished my right broadside, i was condemned to sink and then my killer offered me to save my ship by leaving the battle, in return for the offer i made on our last fight. So he left and i was able to leave too, and didnt sink. I was really touched by such sportmanship, we have some very nice people playing NA Edited September 8, 2016 by Zooloo 2
Hethwill, the Red Duke Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 A Pickle named "Ghoul" After a successful sortie on the southern reaches of Jamaica, alongside other nations privateers I was intercepted, willingly, by a Royal Navy frigate... I was using a fleet for BR tagging ( to make sure no trader has the silly invulnerability bubble ) but after engaging some rigging damage sent it away losing one in the process. Then it came down a one on one... 1

Hethwill, the Red Duke Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 A magnificent fight. Both ships using medium cannons. Got lessoned. A big Salute to the opponent captain. A spectacular end. This one will stay in memory and will be telltale in many taverns and port lodges. Candle Bay is where it all started. Where the crew decided that it was time to move apart from the the Nation interests. Now we, the Captain and crew of the Hyena of Coquibacoa, return in earnest like carrion, delivering pressure on a shrinking territory and fat trade. I keep feeding of the trustful traders in the south. These unescorted, uncaring, and suddenly out of options type of traders make for easy fast income while at the same time denying them the resources and all the labour hours spent. Trade wars are coming.
Hethwill, the Red Duke Posted September 19, 2016 Posted September 19, 2016 You, the bots and me makes three A face-off near Savannah versus US navy coastal patrol fleet. A great battle in which I was rather worried. Salute to the good captain. Let's go nuts Daring is part of being a raider and this one is in face of greater than the longest odds. Great fun ( sorry for any overboard taunts ) GeeGee ThreeOhThree Jumped back into my "love" brig in support of Monkey's cruiser. Since it was available back in ST I didn't touch the Snow ever gain. Also the title says it all. GG 303. There's more than one way to win a losing battle

He thought I was at La Orchila for some reason. Wrong. - "Look to yer portside!" - I says before initiating the attack. Trade Raid #3 - Oceanic privateer [swe][pvp.1] Cruising on the south seas and came across a trader struggling upwind towards Willemstad. To station men ! Let's get us a prize. 1
