RAMJB Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 ...which you can see from my point of view here: Surprised he used that battle, in fact. I know for sure he has footage of another game where he was having the time of his life tormenting my Snow while I was trying to hold an assault from 2 enemy ships XD

DigitalDigging Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 Excellent synopsis Sir... a pleasure to watch! Thank you Rear Admiral - much obliged. 1
Jojcib Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 Ok I figure I'll throw my hat in the ring as well. Here is the first video from a quick game today playing with the Trincomalee.
Racketman Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 This is footage from a pretty close battle where some interesting stuff took place. By rights i probably should have died afew times from some questionable calls, but it was entertaining!
BrutishVulgarian Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 Anybody use Nvidia Shadowplay to record? Either it no longer records NA or it hides the files where I can't find them. Vids used to save in a folder named "client.exe".
ThePfeil Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 Apparently Squirrel also found out about NA: Edit: Kudos to Prater, patiently pointing out in the comments that NA isn't "AC Black Flag +" 1

Vids used to save in a folder named "client.exe". I do. I found that pretty much you have to turn on the desktop recording for it to record. 1
PrezesOi Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 Yes, like Jojcib said - setting "Allow Desktop Capture" is required for recording windowed NA. Note - it may be inactive (greyed) if Windows desktop is not in Aero mode. Recorded with ShadowPlay today + sea shanty as background. 1
BrutishVulgarian Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Thanks guys, "desktop capture" solved the problem.
DanielCoffey Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 I have been enjoying watching these videos while waiting for the PayPal issue to be resolved and I wondered... would it be possible to have a couple more videos aimed at new players who have no sailing or NA gunnery experience? I have seen Ramjb's explanation of polars and have a vague idea of which directions are preferred for the first couple of ships but while watching Stylosa and Kirioth's somewhat chaotic first look cutter fights, I realised I was asking myself the same questions they were... "The match is started and he's upwind of me... how the heck do I go get him without slowing to a crawl?". I am aware that the red bar in gunnery is the elevation indicator ranging guide and I know about single shot ranging but I was confused about what the illuminated sweep of the guns when sighted represents. Why does it appear to narrow when aiming? What influences that behaviour? Is there a difference between broadside and raking? These are the sort of questions new players will all have and may benefit from a little coaching in this area.
Bis18marck70 Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Yacht gameplay in a big PvP battle featuring SideStrafe, Ramjb and Game Labs themselves! Double shot cannonades might not be historically accurate, but they pack a punch! 2
DanielCoffey Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 I loved that one! Insane ending too - thanks!

Man wish I had recorded it from my perspective was an awesome fight, but was too busy watching the live stream at the same time
RAMJB Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 This one was intense. And very very frustrating at some points. But in the end the result is a memorable fight.Ohhh Bellona. Y r u so great?
DodgerRoger Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 I finally got around to playing more Naval Action last week, it took a while to get it exported from Twitch but the quality is pretty good. A fairly quick game in my new Cutter v a Brig, it's 2 v 1 but he has more cannon...
RAMJB Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 Some fun dancing around a Constitution in this one. Was very very close at the end (one more broadside on my right side and I'd been a goner), but also very fun to play 1
RAMJB Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 Back to the big dudes: Santisima Trinidad in a very large battle:
Dread Pirate Musashi Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 Just found out about the game and today news says their sold out of keys til next week. Guess I'll wait til next week lol. The videos are feeding my addiction now thanks!
Henry d'Esterre Darby Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 On the off chance that the new batch of keys is insufficient, I might suggest you get in line early by purchasing a key as soon as you can.
Illusive Tabby Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Good hourlong battle where I took out a Bellona. Not Trafalgar, but still some 27 captains.
Dread Pirate Musashi Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Man wish I had recorded it from my perspective was an awesome fight, but was too busy watching the live stream at the same time I really enjoyed watching this one. Hopefully will be able to get my key this week and join the PVP testing!
