Reki Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 Well, root of idea is to shift focus in anti-gank mechanism from forbidding something to support something else. How about let BR-mode and limitation of numbers of players in battle rest in peace, working instead over support gank victim reinforcement? To not limit number of players in instance and to not use BR, which probably never will be perfect answer, game could let players to help victim fast and effective. To reach this devs can make next thing: 1. Change visibility and icon itself of fight in OS. Now it is two crossed swords. Lets get another one, make it larger and far-visible even trough mist, If that fight in OS have significant BR difference between sides. Also, all except of nation, which victim belongs [or maybe allies too?], will see it as general fight. 2. Change distance needed to join that fight for victim-nation related to BR difference proportion. For example, if BR of players ratio is 1x3, then distance, which allow player to join that fight can be 3 times larger, or even more. Key is to not restrict something working over bugs, balance, limitation and numbers, but put anti-gank on shoulders of nation players and letting them to feel more easy conditions to support their comrades, which could be even rewarded with some title for it. This allows to avoid limitations, i think. 1
Moff_Slippy Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 I agree that protection should be more player based rather than an arbitrary restriction on the number of ships allowed in battles.
IronKraken Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 I agree as well, as a naval captain you wouldn't sit back and be like "Oh my friend is in danger, however I can't do anything because it's an even fight!" You know what you call people that fight fair? We call them the deceased. 3
