TheMarineGamer Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 So I went over to try the brand new amazing engine update which by the way looks absolutely beautifull. However (aware of it being an early version) I used to get a steady 40-50FPS, and although I don't have the best machine, I shouldn't be getting 25FPS. I have a HD7770 so is there a way I can improve my frames without damaging the game's look too much? Or is it a CPU/RAM problem? Just until further optimization since it is preventing me from releasing new videos on the game's fantastic progression. If you have any suggestion please do let me know, I'm sure this will help others too! King Regards -TheMarineGamer
Admaa Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 I've found having AA on decreases FPS massively. I turn it off now and get double the FPS. 1

King Regards -TheMarineGamer this game is pretty demanding, im running an overclocked r9 270 and im getting 40-50 fps in open world and all the way down to 10 fps in the trafalgars, got everything on minimum except water which is on medium, it looks to be a gpu issue, RAM definetly should not be a factor if you have enough edit: also note, the FPS in battle hasnt changed at all for me and it has in the open world due to changing the graphics so it is equal in both open and battles rather than what it was before which was worse in open than in battle. NorthernWolves Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 Turn anisotropic off, it is the biggest frame hog and at this point, until further optimized, does nothing for your visuals. Try AA at 2x and anisotropic off. You really want to have some AA at least. I can run everything max and get good frames, but after testing in OW and instance several times, I could not tell the difference when anisotropic was on or off, so I leave to off and get 15 fps boost.
Ned Loe Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 It's been said AA is not optimized. FXAA is coming soon. SO, just turn it off for now. I run R9 390x 8gb ram and only get 32FPS AAx2 and water at High.
TheMarineGamer Posted November 3, 2015 Author Posted November 3, 2015 (edited) I turn it off but I still get really low frames its really strange. Get around 34FPS in battle instances and 25 in open world Edited November 3, 2015 by TheMarineGamer
Kaaru62 Posted November 5, 2015 Posted November 5, 2015 in the open world, i noticed if i have my boat wake in view, either by zooming out or looking out the back, i get a big drop in FPS.
4535jacks Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 I get 45 in battle and 30 in OW which is ok. I did think FPS would be higher wih DX11 since I get a solid 80 in other games with detailed textures such as DCS.
Bart Smith Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 R290X 4GB RAM - on all max settings got 20-25 FPS in 3800x1800 VSR resolution after switching off AA got 20-25 more FPS! around 60-70 average.
