Crankey Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 I find the night time sailing very poor visuals when they could easily be far brighter and colourful. I attach real photos taken in the Caribbean. As its a game even further enhancement for poetic license could be permitted. Loving the big moon ! https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=caribbean+moonlight+seascapes&biw=1366&bih=671&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0CAYQ_AUoAWoVChMI3fOW1-fOyAIVh1QUCh0L-wmN#imgrc=a6loozkoTwF0IM%3A http://www.gettyimages.co.uk/detail/photo/sea-landscape-at-night-full-moon-royalty-free-image/526267249 https://www.pinterest.com/pin/426997608394555074/ http://www.gettyimages.co.uk/detail/photo/woman-stands-in-the-glow-of-the-moon-on-a-high-res-stock-photography/539657237
Ned Loe Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 These pictures were taken with very high ISO and post processed in PS. 3
maturin Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 There is no moon in the game yet. Without a moon, being on the water with no ambient light is pitch black.
Henry d'Esterre Darby Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 These pictures are taken with very high ISO and post processed in PS. And with long exposure times too. This not how night really looks.
Henrik Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 (edited) Brighter?! My nights aren't that dark at all. Need much darker nights if you ask me! Edited October 19, 2015 by Henrik 3
Crankey Posted October 19, 2015 Author Posted October 19, 2015 Im not an 18th century sailor, but when I log into game I am.... Poetic license allows a games designers to make their environment more pleasant to game in, it doesn't have to be so dull. I am not expecting fireworks and orange moons but what I dislike is drab grey hour after hour. 1
Bart Smith Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 Those are pictures made on Fuerteventura by my S6 during "red blood moon night" view was spectacular btw Not so bloody as expected but still... 1
DeRuyter Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 There is no moon in the game yet. Without a moon, being on the water with no ambient light is pitch black. Lots of stars on a cloudless night though, as long as you are away from the light pollution, which of course was far less in the 18th C. 1
Blackjack Morgan Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 Yep, clear skies without light pollution and the night sky is simply amazing. If you only have lived in populated areas and not had a chance to get away it is highly recommended! 1
