Pagan Pete Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 After the last patch, there is a 6 second cool down on the ships bell. Please remove that. (yes, you can ring the ships bell in combat by pressing "H".) 7
Balsafer Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 maybe allow 2-3 bells rings then have the six second delay. But no to removing the delay. 2
delaine Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 but i like dinging it at npcs that im about to tbone like a horn
Pagan Pete Posted October 14, 2015 Author Posted October 14, 2015 Jeez… If ye don't like the bell, don't use it... I were usin it fer ship to ship communications; we had code for collision alarm, firing, and position (port, vs starboard of another player)
Henry d'Esterre Darby Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 The problem are the people who think it's funny to mash it down the entire match. This, again, is why we can't have nice things. 3
William the Drake Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 Perhaps a compromise: a "sticky keys" situation, where if you exceed ringing the bell in a short amount of time (such as smashing the H button), then it will shut off for a bit. Otherwise, just a few hurried clicks will not trip this system. Just a thought. 3
Captain Holman Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 Why not have it so you can select a message to order your crew to do? And of course, for realisim have bells when the watches would change but make an option to disable this if it is annoying for players. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ship%27s_bell
Mirones Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 + it would be usefull when the night map/ misty storm map returns
Young Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 hold H a tab appears with three to four messages you could "ring" out pick one and then the bell would sound, we get the use of the bell without the bell trolls. 6
