Bart Smith Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 Hi I always was wonder about how many other captains are in same port as me at same time? Maybe this coould be nice feature to see number of captains currently on docks, or maybe we can see even nationality of them? At the end every captain have to dock up and have to be noticed...what you think? 8
Konali89 Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 Yup:) Nationbased aswell, really interesting to see.
Dragonfire Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 Interesting yes but I can see massive exploiting of it. Ts comes alive hey guys it says 4 (pick a nation) captains are in Plymouth as I went by let's set up to get them when they come out. Worse yet TS comes alive again " Hey guys I see " Pick a hated or hotshot player " is in This port I just sailed by let's get him. My vote would be no , no ones needs to know what port I am or we are in at any given point of time. Like the idea as it is a 2 way street but have seen what is going on here lately and can see that being abused a lot.
Bart Smith Posted October 10, 2015 Author Posted October 10, 2015 Well for me personally - if captains enter port he leave ship at docks or harbour and since then he is visible in port. 1
Baron Quertier Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 Maybe not seeing the captain, but certainly seeing what ships are there because in reality entering a port you'd see the shipping laying up 1
Henrik Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 I would not mind a visual representation of our character either, gives ourselves as well as the game more character!
Bart Smith Posted October 10, 2015 Author Posted October 10, 2015 I would not mind a visual representation of our character either, gives ourselves as well as the game more character! Well sadly devs said: no avatars as far i remember...
Henrik Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 Well sadly devs said: no avatars as far i remember... Heard the same Bart, real shame really think it would add more depth to the game! Even just a portrait would be nice, old painting style! 1
Bart Smith Posted October 10, 2015 Author Posted October 10, 2015 Well they said : this could take too much of development time and resources...but i gladly see them in game 1
IonAguirre Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 I agree with knowing which ships are in port. Knowing who is the Captain, does not mind for me and, by the way, would not fit with reality.
Brass Monkey Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 I agree. Sailing into a port and not noticing what ships are there would be unrealistic. Would a ship fly it's national colours in a neutral port? I think the ship info should be given but if a player has an outpost there he could constantly change ship types to confuse other captains. 1
admin Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 City trade chat will be added next patch. It will be used to find players for player to player trade (in case you need to sell oak planks directly to someone) 1
Marquiz Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 Ships in ports should be visible to everyone in that port with proper flag. Captian could hoist false flag, but would be no honorable option. Maybe should be a options to see whats ships are in port from sea. Sailing at close distance.
venom58 Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 When we will have a functional map. Now this map is a semi utilizable.Among other things, refusing me playing with dysfunctional Maps
Jim Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 (edited) This feature will be abused but it is needed, it is the only way small hunting groups can handle at hostile waters. And it is more realistic and natural skill based thing, than BR autobalancer. Edited October 15, 2015 by Jim
