Niels Terkildsen Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 (edited) I don't like it. That is, I prefer the old one. Edited September 19, 2015 by Niels Terkildsen
NorthernWolves Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 it's a good change, been looking at the same paint for over a year now. Maybe they are introducing new paint jobs so eventually we can choose a scheme upon crafting, since they will already be in the files.
jodgi Posted September 19, 2015 Author Posted September 19, 2015 In this regard I care nothing about historicity. I'm one of those who would sail around in pink ships if I could. So shoot me, right?
Alex Connor Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 It's the old paintjob back again... The black strake is in the wrong place (should be lower down along the actual planking strake), looks a bit odd. I like the blue though.
admin Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 Yes its not a bellona Bellona has those statues and paintings and heavier weaponry. 2
Blackjack Symons Posted September 20, 2015 Posted September 20, 2015 Yes its not a bellona Bellona has those statues and paintings and heavier weaponry. This is a different 74?
Alex Connor Posted September 20, 2015 Posted September 20, 2015 Yes its not a bellona Bellona has those statues and paintings and heavier weaponry. Awesome. Build 74s to unlock the real Bellona then?
akd Posted September 20, 2015 Posted September 20, 2015 This is a different 74? It a more generic 74 based on Bellona lines.
Flavalicious Posted September 20, 2015 Posted September 20, 2015 lol....Its a placeholder, generic re-used model to represent an "average" 3rd rate. 2
Arvenski Posted September 20, 2015 Posted September 20, 2015 lol....Its a placeholder, generic re-used model to represent an "average" 3rd rate. This. Same model as the Bellona, but since it's being used to represent a generic 74, it's been given a generic texture to distinguish it from the more unique-looking Bellona.
Alex Connor Posted September 20, 2015 Posted September 20, 2015 Which is kinda the wrong way round... The Bellona's paint scheme is rather pretty but far from unique, as it's probably the nearest thing the royal navy had to a standard paintscheme for much of the 18th century (although it should really have blue bulwarks rather than black and a slightly different position for the strake). Also similar paintschemes were used by a bunch of other navies. Meanwhile the 74's paintscheme is a strange combination of Nelson chequer and the Bellona's original paintscheme which I'm not sure any ship was ever painted, as such totally unique.
jodgi Posted September 22, 2015 Author Posted September 22, 2015 Yes its not a bellona...Ah, was confused by this: Bellona has ... heavier weaponry. Bellona (before wipe): 74: So Bellona went back to the future? 74 is gunned like pre-wipe Bellona and post-wipe Bellona will be crafted with pre-nerf guns? (Wasn't it 24 pounders on middle deck?)
Snoopy Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 The vast majority of 74s had 18pdr guns instead of the 24s, including the Bellona. I hope they keep her carrying 18s.. it also makes 80+ gun two deckers like Pavel, (Bucentaure) less pointless - their ability to carry 32(40) and 24 pound guns was their selling point in RL. 1
