ButterSoup Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 Hey guys, I recently downloaded the beta and cranked up the graphics to maximum, thinking my 980 could handle it. In both open world and battle I get 30-35 FPS average? I don't know whether it's just how the beta is right now or if my card isn't powerful enough. Some insight would ease my anxiety of having a hardware issue
Young Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 turn down anti Aliasing and turn off Anisotropic keep everything else maxed and let me know
Prater Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 Max graphics my 980ti is typically in the 40s with aa at 4x in OW. In battle, it is a lot better. With aa off, and only a couple sols, I can get 100+fps. Otherwise, with it on, I am usually 50+. In the Trafalgar on Saturday, with 40 sols and aa turned off and while I was recording 1080p, I was getting between 25-65, usually around 40 if I remember right. It is all the trees in OW. When you use home key and go so far out that the trees don't render, your fps will jump up significantly. 1
ButterSoup Posted August 26, 2015 Author Posted August 26, 2015 turn down anti Aliasing and turn off Anisotropic keep everything else maxed and let me know With AA at 2x and AO off, I got average of 60 fps in OW and 40-50 FPS in battle with lots of ships. Is this just an optimization issue?
Young Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 yea thats average for me give or take . you can turn AA off and see what that gets you but the game should get optimized later on during the development

Charles Caldwell Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 I play with AA off on 2560x1440 on a GTX 770 I get 50 fps which I feel is very good for a dated card.
admin Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 Switching water to medium and disabling AA gives significant boosts with minimal effect on the graphics. 1
