Jones Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 Hi, don't you think that NPC is too hard to destroy? I mean, I just started to play and it's really hard to sink a Lynx/Pickle/Whatever with my Lynx. Aren't you suppose to "farm" gold and xp by killing NPCs in MMOs? So why is it so hard to destroy one ship? 1
LeeUK Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 Hello Jones and welcome to the game. Killing NPC's is actually pretty easy once you learn the basics. First of all, have you armed your lynx with Carronades? if not, do so, your aim is to use those, get close as possible to the NPC's broadside, load doubles if you like and blow him to bits, try aiming your guns as close as you can to the sea on his side as you can create leaks and will make him take water on faster. You can trap NPCs in a straight line quite often where they will just sail alongside you allowing you to exchange broadsides, even in a lynx this allowed me to sink bigger more powerful ships as the NPC just isn't armed as well. You should also try to focus one side of the enemy, strip away the armour on that one side, they only have 1 repair so when they pop it just knock it back down, if they have no repair left and one of their side armour is completely gone you can pretty much sail off and focus another target because they WILL sink some point after that. Good luck and keep practicing, you'll soon learn how to smash those NPCs with ease.
Balsafer Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 NPC's generally now use the cannon's they are suppose to I believe, they are no longer under gunned. Also NPC's will now use double shot as well
BungeeLemming Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 NPCs always used double when your close and yep.. they now are upgunned to their max displacement. Which makes them actually very powerful since they still aim with laser guidance.. I think its the devs way to say: NPCs are a gimmic, no auto-lvl. Go out and pvp if you want equal fights 1
