Thomas Rowsell Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 Sorry if this is the wrong place for this but I think it would be cool if when you are sailing you can maybe see a few dolphins swimming by, or if you are nearing land you can start to see Seagulls appearing in the sky, Parrots near South America, you get the jist. 1
maturin Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 Not to mention clucking and bleating sounds coming from your own ship as you travel. Ships of the line could have mooing sound effects. And before battle there is a cascade of chickens being thrown overboard. 3
Ned Loe Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 These things are on the wish list. Who knows when devs will go into these little details.
GrapeShot Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 Chickens being thrown overboard are on the devs' wishlist? I can't wait to see the animation for that. 2
Macjimm Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 And before battle there is a cascade of chickens being thrown overboard. Maturin, I thoroughly enjoy your posts. Would love to heard the backstory for this comment.

Well, all the ship's animals should be struck down in the hold in reality. But in Master and Commander (the book), the protagonist's brig approaches a Spanish xebec-frigate that didn't expect them. And the Spaniards frantically clear their vessel for action by throwing all the deck clutter overboard, including the chicken coops. 2
